What was before the universe we live in? Eventually, will there be nothing? That is scary thinking about it. Please be scientific, meaning don't mention god. I believe in god, it's just I am trying to obtain the thoughts of how others see it. Thanks everyone!

The question is flawed. The universe didn't "begin." There was no "beginning" of time. Time streches forever both ways. The universe is in an infinite pattern of expansion and contraction, one that takes trillions of years to complete.

During the "Big Crunch" so much matter has been collapsed in on itself that the gravity rips the universe apart, creating a black hole so immerse that it pulls everything through to a brand new universe to explode and start over again.

Pretty cool huh?

Well cody it really depends on your beliefs.I belive that god
had created the universe when he said let there be light.I
also belive the big bang theory to be one and the same.
most people usually take one idea from this religion and
another from that one and create a base of beliefs which
suits them though, overall the more you study the universe,
the more you realize the existence of god is unavoidable
and evident.

You are like a universe yourself. Imagine how you started from the womb of your mother. Inside is a total darkness until you see the light as you were born.
The universe have to come out almost if not in total similarity as you. Who knows the "big bang" could be likened to your loud cry the moment you got out of the dark womb.

the universe wasn't "created." it just always was. all the matter and energy and whatnot were there and then the big bang happened and the universe expanded into what it is.

no, there won't be nothing. the sun will supernova and engulf the earth but the universe itself will alwas remain. at most, it will retract back up into a new little ball and maybe someday re-expand back out again and start all over.

it is expanding and we don't know what is beyond it. Another universe collapsing maybe? Will ours reach its limit and then start to collapse while an adjacent universe starts to expand? Does the nothing that existed really consist of everything compressed into a virtual nothing?

I think the best answer is I don't know.

Creation means something out of nothing and that is not possible. Even if you say God creates, the question remains as to how God was created. There is no creation and hence no 'end of everything'. It is all a matter of mere change - change of form and state of being!

Created? It wasn't. Creation implies a creator. The universe is. One theory now is that the universe has actually gone through many Big Bangs, expanding and contracting back on itself on into eternity.

big bang...carbon and other elements slammed together and the chemical/biological process started....the universe after being created has been expanding every day....the "eternity" will be a continuation of that....it's likely there are millions of universes and in the eternity we'll have time to travel around and check it out....a snowboarding universe or planet would be nice....

This is the third dimension flowing through the river of time, the fourth dimension. These are only fractions of reality that we are capable of comprehending. Interwoven through everything that exists is the pulse of the universe. We are all one. Life is but a dream and we are the imaginations of ourselves. Think for yourself and find your own truth.
