The first thing you should do is go to your doctor and explain the symptoms and he/she might be able to do a test to determine if is carpal tunnel or another source and the severity. Sometimes a surgical procedure is needed and sometimes doctors will reccommend a visit with an Occupational Therapist who is knowagable with such problems and has a variety of treatments for carpal tunnel.

The best doctor for your problem is an orthopedic surgeon. They specialize in orthopedic problems, which carpal tunnel is.

An orthopod or neurologist. Once in a while you can also find plastic surgeons who are hand specialists.
