I was born into a devout Italian Catholic family. However, my parents died when I was in my teens, and then I started exploring religion in a serious way. I attended all manner of Christian and non-Christian services, something I still do to this day. I learned to respect many different religions and denominations. But I've never found a religion that spiritually captivated me like the Roman Catholic church. So I remain Catholic by choice.

I was raised Christian, although my current way of looking at Christianity is miles away from my fundamentalist upbringing. My religion is based on my experiences and what I feel is really the truth. It's hard to explain because it's a spritual thing which is really in a completely different realm than rationality. So of course it's not going to sound logical.

I didn't choose my faith. I was born pagan. I tried for many years to be Christian, but my Ancestors appeared to me in a dream when I was 9, then again at 14, then again 16. In the final time, I was shown the path back to my ancestral faith.
Many years later, I confronted my mother about trying to keep my faith away from me. She cried and told me that she only wanted me to be Christian so I would fit in and have better chances of success in a Christian society.
But from my example, now she has the strength to embrace her heritage as well. So we get along a lot better now that we both recognize the power of our Ancestors around us.

I use to go to church every Sunday with my grandparents, but when I was eight they moved across country so I just started going by myself. I've just always known it to be true. I'm 14 now and still completely active. I've only missed two Sundays in about a year or so. I just know it's true and nothing can change my mind. It's all my choice.

My parents took me to church when I was young, but they both realized I didn't like it and that I didn't belong there. They have never been ones to force-feed me anything. They allowed me to learn things for myself, ask questions, and form my own conclusions. Over twenty years after first concluding it, I am still an atheist.

I started to see a lot of fallacies in organized religion. Did some serious thinking and research, and wha-laa...Atheism was the logical choice for me.

I don't really feel that I chose atheism. When I was a kid, I never believed the Bible stories. I didn't realize that I was supposed to. I just can't make myself believe in something that I don't believe.
