In the Movie "Dances With Wolves", the Lakota equivalent of "Dances With Wolves" sounded like "Tumanny tatanka ob wachi". But I thought "tatanka" meant "buffalo"? Is his name "Dances with Buffalo"?

Pretty close. They're very similar words.

buffalo is thathanka
wolf is sungmanitu thanka (spelling differs, depending on the source (sounds like shunk mannEE too tanka)
