why weren't all humans on earth at that time his "special, chosen people."
why were they just floundering around with false religions in which, for all they could figure, the sun was god? Or the Moon? or that each one of those kinds of things were gods?

In the bible, many times it talks about how god gave jews victory in battle, slaying their territorial neighbors. Because all those people were all sinfull and deserved it? Hard to believe. But then again, every single citizen in the two CITIES of sodom and gommorah was so evil that they deserved death, so maybe it is possible. (sarcasm)

God had never shone upon those people his existance or goodness or truth, leaving them as primitive people completely without god's guidance, left to worship whatever their town leaders told them to, and yet he has his special people have great victories over these other people, killing hundreds of men in battle. that does not make sense.

They aren't,and they never were. God would obviously consider humanity His chosen people; that's the meaning of Christ's teachings and why Christianity is open to all, irregardless of race or ethnicity. Acceptance of the jewish creed means accepting the idea of God as a blazing racist or at least a racial elitist - the last of which is indeed what jews believe. I think they're full of crap.

The Jews were chosen to as "pointers" if you will to the true God. The covenant with Abraham was established by God so there would be an avenue of salvation for people. Many of the surrounding cultures were into things like child sacrifice and some forms of canablism. And, if you look closer, you'll see that Abraham actually did plead with God not to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gommorah if there were just 10 people who were not overcome with evil and God agreed. He would have gladly left those cities alone but there were not 10 people who were not evil.

God's "law" is written in the heart of every human being. If we would just listen to our conscience, we would build a better world.
The Jewish people was a chosen people in the sense of being a sort of pilot group. They were meant to be an example, to live following God's way and then this would have spread throughout the world. So far, not so good.
A lot of the Bible is not God's direct Word. There is history, etc., from the point of view of those who wrote.
Today we can see clearer and understand better due to the fact that God spoke to a man fairly recently - 1974 and 1977. You can read the message in "The Revelation of Arès".

Not 'special' people but rather the 'elect' or 'chosen' people! There's a really BIG difference. There is nothing particularly special about the Hebrew race compared to any other race or creed or sect. However, long, long, long ago, God CHOOSE Abram, the Father of the Hebrew people, because of his FAITH in the ONE TRUE God, Jehovah!!! Abram, whos name was later changed by God to Abraham, was told by God that he would someday become the Father of a great nation of peoples, and that the Messiah would come from out of his descendants!!!!!!!
It is the Jews who think that they are SPECIAL, because they are of the SEED of Abraham, and don't even believe in the Sinful nature or fallen nature of man. Nor do most Jews believe in an eternal HELL, and punishment after death! If I were Jewish, I guess I'd want to believe this way as well, but it is WRONG, and ALL Jews as well as any fallen person from any faith, creed, religion or sect, that doesn't BELIEVE in Jesus as their SAVIOR are in for a RUDE awakening someday and soon!!! Read the very interesting reference I've pasted below for you. God bless . . . .

This question could not possibly answered well in just a couple of sentences. God, in His mercy already had a plan for the Savior when Adam and Eve disobeyed. Do the geneologies in Genesis, even when Adam and Eve fell from grace, God had already made provision for the coming Savior, thru the line of Seth (Noah, Shem, Abram, Issac, Jacob, Israel and so on.) This was not because they were "special" per se, but it was only this line of decendents that continued to walk in God's ways and keep his commandments. And don't forget that Ham's line was cursed, they are the decendents who built the Tower of Babel and settled Sodom and Gomorah; they turned their back on God and began the false religions. Don't think for one second they didn't have God's guidance-if you do the geneologies you would find that Noah and his sons were still alive when Abram was born, ALL those decendents heard pre-flood history and God's mercy and grace directly from those who lived it. But as they spread out, especially after the Tower of Babel, they forgot about what their grandfathers taught them or outright rejected it and followed after their own hearts (except the line of Shem). God gave those people victory in battle because they did not rely on their own strength but God's, and they obeyed His commandments (but not always). The nation of Israel was not better than anyone else and later on in history turned their backs on God many times (with dire consequences). Long story short, God picked them because God made that particular line of people a promise, that from them the seed would come who would "bruise the serpent's head" (defeat Satan). God doesn't go back on His promises.

like a number of atheists or nonbelievers you twist the Bible and make up nonsense for issues you're uneducated approximately. God has continuously made his existance, goodness and actuality ordinary to human beings. yet human beings do no longer decide to do issues God's way, they could fairly % their very own path. and what's so challenging to have confidence approximately sodom and gommorah? you do no longer think of it fairly is attainable that there became lots evil there that it needed to be destroyed? pass back and examine the account of sodom and gomorrah. what proportion circumstances did God tell them to alter their evil way earlier he destroyed them? how some years did he enable for them to alter? earlier God destroyed the city, Abraham bargained with God and pronounced, if he stumbled on one righteous man or woman God does no longer destroy the two cities. And Abraham did no longer discover one man or woman. The Jews are nevertheless God's chosen human beings. He under no circumstances took that back from them. The Bible says, " he who blesses the Jews would be blessed, he who curses the Jews would be cursed". So in case you acquire hatred against the Jews I recommend you verify which section you're on via fact it fairly is in all probability the incorrect section. God is often exhibiting his goodness, mercy and actuality, yet human beings nevertheless dont settle for it. How long has the US been around and has continuously grow to be extra evil daily. Abortion, murders, newborn molesters, pornography, rapists, drug lords, injustice. Judges are bought and acquired in public. Unfair therapy for the prosperous. extra beneficial than 2 hundred years God has patiently waited for the US to repent of its evil and it purely gets worse. God will wipe the US off the map sooner or later, if issues dont exchange.

The Jews were not called "God's Special People." They have been referred to as God's "Chosen People."

Growing up Jewish, I never really knew what that meant, and what we were chosen for. Many years later, I learned that the Jews were chosen to be the people from whom the Messiah would come. They were, throughout history, protected by God. This wasn't because they were good (many times they were horrible) but because God was protecting the line of Messiah.

I did not find that out until I began investigating the life of Jesus to determine if He actually was the Messiah that I and my fellow Jews had been waiting for. He was!

Someday, according to Romans 11, the Jews will, as a people, recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah and will follow Him.

Being the chosen people means no privileges. We have the same 'heaven' as non-Jews, and non-Jews can enter without doing certain things. Being 'chosen' is throughout the bible, somewhat of a pain. As Tevye says; "why can't you choose someone else for a change!"

The concept of chosenness is often misunderstood. It does not imply ethnic or racial superiority.
Historically, it goes back to Abraham. Abraham lived in a world steeped in idolatry, which he concluded was contradicted by the reality of design in nature.
Abraham invested years of dedication and effort to be God's representative.
So Abraham came to a belief in God, and took upon himselfthe mission of teaching others of the monotheistic ideal. Abraham was even willing to suffer persecution for his beliefs. After years of enormous effort, dedication and a willingness to accept the responsibility to be God's representative in this world, God chose Abraham and his descendents to be the teachers of this monotheistic message.
In other words it is not so much that God chose the Jews; it is more accurate that the Jews (through Abraham) chose God.

God's chosen people meant that he chose that group of people from which his son would be descended. He made the promise to Jacob (Israel) that the messiah would be descended from his bloodline.

Throughout the Old Testament they continually fell in and out of God's good graces, they would be strong and then falter, because after all they were only human. But it was considered a great honor for the messiah to come from that bloodline. Beyond that, I'm not sure what you're asking.
