We dont' believe in the rapture.

However, we do believe that there are many reasons for needing to have food on hand. What if you are in a storm of some sort? What if you lose your job, and can' find one for a year? Or the breadwinner gets sick? or dies?

Mormons are advised to keep stores of food for tough times. Typically you try to build up 3 months, then 6, then a year, then maybe longer.

This is *not* for the rapture (a non-Mormon doctrine.) It is for when times are tough: in case of illness, accident, etc. It is related to our belief in the Apocalypse, but not specifically for it.

LOL - it isn't in case of a rapture, it is in case of emergency both natural disaster or economic.

LOL!!
