Tell him to grow up.
The child was produced by both of you and is not a clone of your boyfriend. The child is uniquie and deserves its own name.
He does not need a label that says 'My dad is so insecure yet loves himself so much that Im his publicity'.

Unique name please , fathers name old hat no one does that any more dump the boyfriend right away and get someone more modern . Get a book of babies names and go through it thoroughly, if everybody didthat we would have such an eclectic mix in the world today not just the usual boring stuff so by the time they get to school age , half the class has the same name. be original ..Sharkey knows it all!

Go with a more unique name. My brother was named after my dad, and every time we would call for one, both would answer and it used to drive my mom nuts....Keep it unique..Jr is so common. Talk to your boyfriend and let him know how important it is to you for you to give him a more individual name. You could compromise by putting his name as a middle name, but give him a unique first name. Congrats on your baby to be!

NO! I named my first son after his Father. We have divorced and my son has a hard time with finances and such because his father has bad credit. They even banked at the same bank and the president refused to see my son because he thought it was the senior. Needless to say my son no longer banks there. So give your kid a break and name him his own unique name.

My husband wanted me to name our son the same as his. I don't like his name and chose what I preferred and am so glad I did, because now he is my ex-husband and I despise him and am so glad that I don't have to constantly be reminded of his name if it was also our son's name. Go with what you like. After all you are the one going through all the discomfort and pain. I think the mother should have final say on the name. Just my opinion.

i agree with you..... i don't like when children are named after their father...maybe you could come to an agreement with your boyfriend and name your son after a grandfather or something. That way the name is still special...

My husband and I never wanted to have a junior, however I did want him to have a part of his fathers name. We ended up kind of combining both of our names to make the name Brayden. We are very pleased with the outcome!! Good luck!

Since I don't like naming boys after their fathers, I say name him something different, and give him his father's first name as his middle name. This way, he still has part of his father's name.

it would be nice to have his dads name as second or third name but the baby could be asked questions or teased over having junior as his name....... the 2 of ye will come to an agreemant and you will most likely win after all you are carrying and going to gve birth to this baby..... best of luck hunni xxxxx

let him call him junior and you come up with a name.
or let his first name be (JR) and you pic his middle name. remember you can call your child whatever you want besides what his name ison his birth certificates. That's why nicknames exist. good luck and relax.
