Jesus was long dead when the Roman Emperor Constantine declared Christianity as the official religion of the Empire. The same Empire who decided to have Jesus killed and his followers to be pursued and persecuted much worse than they did to Jesus.
Being a Roman and undeniably will never succumb to follow a Jewish Tradition, he took the Old Testament because Jesus was a Jew but when the New Testament was being written, even if most of them were taken from the writings of those who witnessed or heard about Jesus, he has to influence his subjects to make several alterations that will cater to his Pagan whims.
Later on, the Christians who were once the oppressed become the oppressors because they were now the Roman devils after they have expelled all the Jews.

There are always those who try to corrupt the book. The problem is there are so many ancient manuscripts that can be used for reference the corruption is found out. Besides, Satan is well aware of scripture and will often try to take it out of context to corrupt the idea behind it. That's why understanding and study on an individual level, as well as keeping in touch with others who study is so important. It's a sort of checks and balances system, if-you-will.

One also needs to recognize the book was not written when the council decided what books to include in it. Many of the manuscripts were originally written thousands of years earlier and many are still preserved for our examination.

Well, considering the book wasn't written until decades (50-70 years minimum) after, the people you're talking about would probably have died of old age.

But when you consider that virtually none of the many historians back then ever mention Jesus (and some of them mention some pretty insignificant cutthroats), and that the entire Jesus story was plagiarized from earlier pagan savior gods, the whole thing falls apart and it becomes clear that it's all just made up.

Good Question! The ones who put Christ to death were the Romans. The Roman Catholics do have their own interpretation of the Bible as well as their own Bible. But rest assured, God is indestructible and His Word will stand against any obstacle that Satan throws at it. The truth is waiting for all who want to know it through Jesus Christ. Trust Him to lead you not astray!

God Bless

Tried?

The New Testament was written 200+ years after Christ died - after all witnesses and material evidence were safely disposed.

Don't you even suspect something is sour when your literal word of god gives pi = 3, twice, and mere 355/113 gives pi correct to seven decimal places? Was the Creator of all the universe and its contents really bad at math? We're lucky circles close at all.

No because it was God's will to sacrifice His Son for us so that we can have eternal life.
