She's looking for her kittens, when my cats have kittens sometimes a mother will lose her whole litter, (i.e. too small to survive, got to cold, weak, etc) or most of the litter. When the whole litter dies the mother will go and steal another cat's kittens or if one kitten is left from her own litter she will become very protective and even hide them away from humans that she normally trusts. She will eventually grow out of it, especially once that last kitten leaves the house.

She may be looking for the babies. Cats generally are very good mothers & they are very protective of them. They have feelings too you know. She will eventually adjust. Please get mom cat spayed to prevent future litters. There are more kittens thatn good homes - even if your kittens got good homes, because of the sheer huge numbers of kittens out there, some others didn't get homes. I volunteer with animal rescue & it is so sad - I presently feed about 30 cats behind businesses & restaurants & such because I can't find people to take them. I've just vaccinated them & altered them & had to leave them where they are, because I can't take them all home.

Time for her to be spayed!
This is fairly usual behaviour for a cat, they get over it quick. In the wild they'd be having their next litter before too long and so will have forgotten all about the last one. Now that the kittens are weaned and gone, it's time for the cat to get spayed so she doesn't do this all over again. They're capable of getting pregnant pretty much as soon as they've given birth.

Aww she probably is looking for her kittens. Mom's become very attached to their young pretty quickly and she was probbaly use to them nursing on her and being around. She may have finally noticed that one by one they have disappeared. It may take her a while to get over it. Some cats even become depressed when there babies are gone. It might not be a bad idea to get her a friend/companion so she has another animal to bond with. Good luck!

she is DEFINITELY looking for the other kittens,
the same EXACT story happened to us, but our cat, Annabelle, had the kittens, but they all 3 died
she kept meowing depressingly, there's really no way you can stop this, just try to play with your cat, this may take a few days like us, or maybe even up to years

She's looking for her kittens. As long as she has the one with her, she thinks the others are nearby too and she is calling for them. I'm so very glad you found homes for them, but I hope you have had her spayed because she will be in heat again very soon. !!!

Since it's a small pineapple stuffy, your cat is suffering from "small pineapple stuffy" syndrome. Take the cat immediately to petco with said small pineapple stuffy, and exchange it for a watermelon small stuffy. This will solve your problem.
Animal planet will have answers for you on their website.

Most likely she's missing her kids. She's wondering where they are - this will pass, but is it fair to make her go through this again after this? It must be really upsetting to them.
Most shelters fix animals before sending them out for adoption, please consider doing this for her.
