but..

sheer curiosity, nothing else... has anyone here ever been convinced by someone else on here to change their belief structure?

and it's probably been asked before, so i apologise in advance if thats the case.

soulful and footprints...

I hear ya!! Agnostic was one of those things that I just used to answer the "what are you" question but now, every day I'm on here, I think more in more to converting to all out Athiest.

That's gonna take some deep soul searching... because I'm really not the type to say that anything is really truly true (true wisdom is admitting you know nothing at all etc etc) but I'm sure getting there with this one!

I went from Atheist to Radical Atheist.

I will say that I've gained a lot of respect for Buddhists, Pagans and Wiccans. My respect for the others continues to slide into the abyss.

I don't know personally if I've changed anyone's minds (no one's let me know) but I've sure tried. I've had people say, "Wow, you've given me some food for thought." So, that's cool enough, I suppose.

As for me, I haven't changed my mind recently. I decided to be Agnostic a few years back and I'm still the same because I can't say there is NO god. I know there's no proof there's a god but there's no proof that there isn't one either. Plus, I've had some interesting supernatural things happen to me.

I WILL say that I've grown very, very intolerant of Christians now due to some of the crap I've seen on this site. Some of the stuff here makes you want to give them all a collective smack upside the head and say, "What's WRONG with you?!" I still respect certain groups (such as Wiccans & Buddhists) immensely even if I may not believe in their religion 100%.

Not really structurally speaking, but it has expanded my knowledge. Because it's given me many opportunities to research things that I wasn't clear on, or look up things I'd never really had cause to look up before. My faith in God has only been reaffirmed by being on here, and seeing first hand how confused some people are, how blind some are, and how callus some are, and then how strong, loving, peaceful, and REAL some are. I can tell the way a person is by looking at their question. There are evil people out there. Be careful!!

I havent changed my beliefs
but in my time here , I have learned a lot
and have added/taken away and altered my beliefs when need be
when someone posts something , I take time to study it a little
if it makes sense for me , then I will accept it
if it goes against what I thought , then I will question things and adjust

so I have changed quite a lot since being here
although the basics of my beliefs have stayed the same

I have reached out to several who have messaged me thanks for my help here. One lady I hooked up with a church in her city(she wanted this) and a young man was suicidal and struggling with God and is now doing better.

Also, I have had people contact me for more info. Christians believe in planting seeds and watering them(ideas-good thoughts) but do not expect to be the one to reap the harvest all the time.

Lastly, I have learned a lot more respect for both Muslims and Buddhists here. The way some people treat the Muslims I am amazed at their tolerance.

Thanks for the polite question.

I have asked this question before, and I was surprised that a few admitted to changing their minds on some basic issues...but, no one ever said they changed their belief structure....

I went from Agnostic to Atheist. I've also developed a lot of respect and admiration for peaceful religions like Wicca, Buddhism, and Hinduism.

I'm with Soulful Kris. I went from apathetic atheist to fervent atheist because of the theist madness I see here.

I've gone from fundie Christian to agnostic/atheist. This place alone didn't convince me but being exposed to different ideas, opinions, and questions encouraged me remember my own questions and hesitations about my religion.

No - but it's interesting to read other peoples' perceptives on life. I'm sometimes surprised by how defensive and rude some posters can be.

I am a Christian. No one can change that..........
