My daughter was thrown from a horse at college. She was taken by ambulance to the local hospital and then by life flight to a trauma center. She had x-rays taken and the doctor called ,said all was fine, sending her home. Hour ride home in great pain and then 3 flights of stairs to her room. The next morning hospital called, told her to get back immediately , her back was broken. Again, down 3 flights of stairs and an hour drive. Once she got to the hosp. she was made to wait for over 4 hours, sitting in a chair, before seeing a dr. I got there that evening, asked to see a dr. waited 7.5 hours before he showed up. Was told he had no info because he didn't treat her. She was fitted for a brace, had xrays and was back in her room by 1 pm. We had no results until 915pm and only because I hounded them. Turns out that orthopedics had her results at 330 but no one could be bothered to come up to write release (dr's words). she spent 2 days in hosp. Can we sue for bills not paid by ins ?

Yes you can!
Just get a lawyer, and go to the hospital and ask for the complete doctors/nurse notes of the days that your daughter was in the hospital. Tell them to give you copies of the ALL. Show it to your lawyer and he will do the rest and guide you through.

PS. Did you write a report? If not, then go as soon as possible and file a report.

Hope this helps, and that your daughter get better soon! :)

yes consult with a lawyer right away. I don't understand why they would make you leave I personally would have let them call security on me and they could call the cops. They have no right to make you leave. sue if for no other reason then to have the hospital's behavior make it to the nightly news and maybe it won't happen to another person. good luck to your family member.

I suggest looking into suing the doctor for making an improper diagnosis as medical doctors are supposed to be the best in the world at prognosis, sue for pain and suffering.

Sound like you have a very strong case against the hospital. You should sue for bill, and damages. Who knows what damage has been done because they sent her home with a broken back. Emotional damages, pain and suffering, medical bills, and all legal fees is what you should go for.

you must be living in Australia!! here patients, come to the hospital, gets told your case is not urgent "go sit and wait"
next thing they wonder who that dead person is or get sent home being told just migraine, 6 hours later have to go back again, because stronger pain again same thing said, patient dies hour later with burst bloodvessel in the brain> so go get them!!
