Why would a person want to unite "cristiens" against "evil thinkers" when they cannot even organize their own thoughts?

Seriously is there an urge or mutation in us (the human race) that makes each of us think we are somehow more gifted than others in everything we do? ie: confidence regardless of reality?

Sadly Uncle Wayne, it seems as if some have never even read the bible. There is no need to challenge non-believers or feel as if we are under any obligation to start a crusade against them. Our job is to love God with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves. The following text tells us that the rest is in God's hands.

Hebrews 8:10&11
This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.

it's called pride :(
given that we have had persons throughout the ages (Atilla, many emperors, Hitler, Stalin, etc etc etc) who have tried and / or achieved such nonsense....

dunno if it's a genetic mutation or not, although I know they have done studies on some of these people's actual brains to try and figure them out.... I don't think they got anywhere.

Uncle Wayne, this is the 2nd or 3rd q that addresses something similar today.... have i missed something? what's the headline?

blessings :)

The "Us vs. Them" mentality has always been popular, and it shows the problem of human pride. Everyone like to divide themselves into little groups and then sit around bragging about how great they are. It's just a sign of insecurity.

Confidence regardless of reality?

My confidence MAKES reality!!!...

... now I just need to get some of that confidence and start making some of that reality for myself...

Of course, even if we work in societies, humans are still individuals, therefore we do our best to please ourselves(often disguising it as doing good)

For example
Philanthropy, you give because your empathy, yet your motivation is to shut up your empathy, not really the welfare of the people you are helping.
Sorry if it bothered someone, that's my nihilistic side speaking.

Not mutation, original sin makes us think we are superior to others. (With some help from the school system which tells us 'we are special,' and other self-esteem garbage.)

ah, yes--the "us" against "them" mentality, the mark of immature thinking. These posters appear to be young & not well educated, from their misspellings & marginal grammar & punctuation. If you point out to them that this makes them less than credible they attack, accusing you of having nothing to say.

We don't wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Jesus said that whoever is not against us is for us. That is where our confidence lies, not in ourselves but in him.

Well, yes - sociologically humans are predisposed to prefer their own group over another. Pretty common in all pack animals....
