Sorry Dudley/ Birmingham people, but you must see my point.

Regarding the USA, I smile when they talk with that drawl, like the copper with all the sun glasses on his dashboard in Kill Bill.

For the benefit of indi500 I'm from Hertfordshire (I'm posh!), but live in Nottingham (14 years).

My wife is from Norwich (also a funny accent).

Probably the New Jersey, Minnesotin', or Georgia accents are the funniest. Watch Fargo for the Northern accent, My Cousin Vinnie for the New Jersey Accent, and a Foghorn Leghorn cartoon for the Georgia accent.

Arkansas hillbillies are very hard to understand. While traveling by bus back when I was in college I sat next to a girl from the Arkansas Ozarks.

We were both speaking English. She had a difficult time understanding me. I had a difficult time understanding me.

We both had to slow down our speaking in order to understand each other!

That was one weird conversation. I can understand hard core Bronx-Brooklyn-New Joisy-Bashton (Boston) accents with far less difficulty than that Arky Ozark girl!

I grew up in the Midwest of the USA and have lived in Seattle and Bakersfield, CA. While living in Bakersfield people thought I was from New York. Now that I am back in Seattle I never get comments about my accent. I guess I have NO ACCENT.

It just has to be one of the dialects emitting from the Deep South.

Can't say I have heard a Dudley accent but boy, some of those Scots accents are real foreign!

It's Texas alright. I worked with a guy from Texas and every time he talked I near wet my pants laughing and told the boss I couldn't work near him because his accent made me laugh too much. Thing about it was the guy was very good looking as far as a man goes till he opened his mouth."Kin I haallp someone" funny.
