I'd like to get a b'day gift for a friend's daughter; hopefully nothing about appearance, like cosmetics or accessories, would prefer something a bit more educational/useful. But I have no good idea yet. Can anyone help? Many thanks!

Btw, I don't have kids and don't know anyone around that age. So I do appreciate all the ideas a lot!!!

Ask your daughter what types of things she likes.

Most girls this age like crafts, Making their own jewelry or adding beads to their shoes, purses, jeans. They have a lot of fun with a bead-dazzler

Buy her accessories for her room ask your daughter what her color scheme is.

If she is into sports, buy her some equipment used for that sport.

A Diary

Scrappbooking kit.

CD of her favorite band

A gift card to a local book store.

A telescope so she can look at the stars.

Take her and your daughter horse back riding

Best friend jewelry

A subsection to a teen magazine.

How about a pass to a museum or something like that. If she enjoys reading you could get her some books or a gift card to a book store. Maybe a subscription to a fun "teen" magazine.

It kind of depends on her interests. If you get her something educational and she isn't really into that stuff the gift will get stuck on a shelf or desk and forgot about. You want to pick something you know she will use even if it is more fun than practical!

Most 13 year olds love clothes but if you insist on not get a good book! Some great series for 13 year olds are: Princess Diaries, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and Series of Unfortunate Events! I love those series!

A book , would be my first choice. Like maybe a gift certificate to a book store. Thats what I did for my daughter's friends birthday. If she is not into books then maybe a CD to learn another language. Best of Luck

She pronounced besides video clips, you adult males won't be able to be certain... i could say pass out on your sought after eating place and then pass into the city (in case you reside close to a minimum of one and shop or some thing). you're able to do a little pastime you like

I'm 13 and I love books!!! If you get her a a pass for somewhere, you should get her a book that is themed with it. Say the Biltmore Estate (if you live near there, or any kind of factory, like hershey or something interesting) get a book about the history!
