Is that psychiatrist code for "gay"? Just curious.

So if a psychiatrist had that on a patient's chart when the patient is gay, not wanting to be the opposite sex, they would be wrong.

It is when a person is born one sex, say a male, but feels as if he should be a female. It is not a "gay" thing at all. It is very confusing for the person, and he/she needs lots of support and guidance.

This is just a guess, but it's probably a psychiatrists code for "trans-gender"... you know people who feel like they were born the opposite gender than the actually are and who dress and act accordingly.

No, some people are born of one gender, but are feeling that perhaps they should have been born another gender. It does not mean they are gay, nor is it a code. Sometimes they will alter themselves in order to fulfill the feelings they have.
