Wrong. No one can possibly know anything for sure even after death. Who is to tell? However, there are things we know for sure when we are alive. We do have faith in taking advices from someone we trust. Mistakes are made, but statistically, we receive more good advices than bad.

Atheists presume you can't know anything after death, because consciousness ends with death. Therefore, according to that presumption, it is impossible for them to admit what you suggest without compromising their beliefs.

Christians and most other religions presume there is life after death, so they can freely admit that they won't find about an afterlife until after they die.

Even in this, there is contention.

Personally, I don't think we'll know anything after death. I think that when you die, that's it. Why would there be anything else? If there is something beyond death for us, then logic holds that there would have to be something beyond death for dogs, birds, cockroaches, bacteria...and I don't think that anybody believes that. So I guess that it's best to say that nobody will ever know anything for sure.

Atheists do admit this. That's why we don't claim to know the way to get to heaven, or if a heaven exists.

We just know which ways have been proven false, like... every religion on the face of the earth.

I'll admit that... well, of course, technically, I don't fall into either category...

I'd rather spend my life in search of truth than blindly following a book written by politicians over 2000 years ago.

Besides, IF there is a god, I'd like to think that she'd respect me for not being a blind sheep and let me in to heaven anyway :)

I agree with you...so many pretend to have all of the answers, but no one does.

There is only one ultimate authority on scripture and that is Jesus Christ...unless you claim to be God, you shouldn't really pretend to have all of the answers...that is blasphemous...

So, yeah...I agree with you...we won't know anything for sure until after death...

But, it is by faith that we believe, that some day it will all be revealed to us.

The only time you CAN possibly know anything (for sure or otherwise) is BEFORE death. After death, your brain decomposes. You cannot "know" anything period without a brain and we KNOW that for sure.

I agree, we can't know for sure.

But I have faith that after death is something beautiful.

My position exactly. If there is an afterlife, then it is a matter for the dead to worry about. The living shouldn't give it a second thought.

I'll admit it. When you admit for sure that you can't know about Santa unless you personally go to the North Pole!
