Yep, I doubt I'll be able to be there. If there's a webcast I'll watch. Christians in Brazil will also be gathering in Rio de Janeiro on that date.

Yes, Christians and pretty much all cultists LOVE numerology, and the idea that certain dates (especially when its the same number repeated,) actually have some sort of universal significance gets them all hot and bothered...
Why?
Because they usually never consider that the western calendar (and most calendars, in fact,) are ARBITRARY...There is no particular reason the start and finish of the months or years, or even days, are what and when they are...Somebody (kings and emperors usually,) just started keeping track of time and we get stuck with it...
If you want a significant date...The Mayan calendar puts the end of cycles at December 2112...Its the most accurate of the ancient systems, and if anybody knew something we don't, I would think it would be the ones who actually understood how the system worked...
Oh, and as an added bonus...The number of the beast, "666?"
In Hebrew looks suspiciously like "III," remind anyone of a bar-code?
