I'm thinking about staying at The Hacienda in El Segundo. Is the neighborhood nice? I just want to make sure I'm not going to be in 'the hood'! Thanks.

I work at LAX and we send people to the Hacienda everyday. It is a nice area with a couple of restaurants and a car museum within walking distance. Only about 2 miles south of LAX.

El Segundo is not "the Hood". It is directly south of LAX, and right on the Pacific coast. It has nice residential areas and some industrial areas, mostly oil refineries.

The Hacienda is a nice hotel, but please also check out: Doubletree Inns, Courtyard/Marriott and Hilton /Garden Inn. All three may give you a better price.

The Hacienda is a fine hotel. The neighborhood isn't Beverly Hills, but it's not Compton, either. Heck, it's the airport. Lots of fast food eats, Subway, Quizno's, and a Starbuck's all right there. You'll be fine there. Enjoy your stay in LA!

Parts are nice and parts arent nice. Stay close to the hotel wlaking wise. In a car you should be better off. "The Hood" would be Watts, Hawthorne, Compton, etc. EL Segundo has some rich yuppies.

In stead of asking people here, why not ask on a site that specializes in hotels (I'm assuming that's what kind of establishment you're staying in) like hotels.com, etc.

You might want to try Redondo instead.
