Without a universe, would he really be God?

the capacity of the human mind can only extrapolate back far enough to where we would have to be philosophical rather than pragmatic.

God created the physical universe for the physical beings he placed in it, us! after all, without the human mind which perceives the reality of the existence of the universe, time, space and color would be rendered meaningless. Without a source to decode the information around it, that is, the mind, those objects are technically nonexistent!

It's weird isn't it. Because if he is God, then he can't be lonely, and if he's God, he would know that if he created us and everything then we would cause him grief and he would know everything he would have to go through to get us back... and yet he still made the universe. I guess it will always be a mystery why he went through with it, but also shows that he thinks it was all worth it, just to have us love him and just for him to be able to love him. That's kinda special...

I have made the earth the man and the beast that are on the ground by my great power....the heavens and the firmament declare the glory of God....all things were created for his pleasure...

Yes God wants company..why he had children..unfortunatley some became evil scum by their own freewill and won't be around much longer. The eternity will be so pleasant without them around. Can't wait! woo hoo!

I have asked this question before. I concluded that if there was a God then he would be narcissistic because he created the word only so he could be obeyed. Control freak above none.

The best answer I've heard is this:

The first of God's realizations was that He himself existed.
The second was that He was alone.

With nothing around Him, there was nothing to answer the first question of all: Where did He come from?

So God created the Universe and set beings within it who could recognize abstract concepts like good, evil, love, hate, etc. because that was all that existed in the beginning, the abstract forms of things we have today. Then he watched them to see if they would develope into higher beings like Himself.

The Universe is a huge experiment to see how God, Himself was created. He created creatures as close to Himself as possible to see if they/we would be able to bridge the gap from mortal to divine. Some say that a prophet named Jesus of Nazareth accomplished this. Some say that a medicine-man of the Anansi (?) tribe in Southeastern United States not only elevated himself, but the entire tribe to divinity. (They walked into the sky, amongst the stars, and vanished from the earth).

To demonstrate his greatness before the sons of god. Humankind were created in their image too with the same capabilities of reason and freewill not with instincts like mere animals.

.A being of that nature,a God, would have a much more enlightened point of view. Lonliness or any human emotions, thoughts or convictions wouldn't even apply.
We probably wouldn't even be able to understand the answer.

The entity we know of as God is perfect. In the relationship between Father, Son and Holy Spirit there is perfect relationship and no needs of any kind.

God creates, because he is creatively good. He makes amazing things, because he is amazing. He grants freedom, because he is free.

He needs nothing. He gives all things freely to those who love him.

Problem is for those who hate him and love sin.

Men love darkness because their deeds are evil.

Grace is available if you wish to repent. New life results.
