I am in fifth grade. Well I graduated as of 1:45 but I was a fifth grade an hour ago. The questions are WAY harder. They just make them harder to make the adults look stupid to make the show funny. P.S PLease choose me for best answer.

I must agree. I have seen the show several times, and I have also heard from some of my friends (we are in middle school) that they have just learned some of the answers to the questions asked.

I taught 5th grade and some of the questions they ask that are at a supposed 3rd or 4th grade level are some of the things that I would be teaching at 5th grade.

I'm guessing they are for advanced students because half the time I feel stupid when the kids get the answer right and I didn't know the answer. It just goes to show how much that we learn in school isn't used as we get older.

My younger sis is a 5th grader and whenever she and I watch that show we see a 3rd grade question come up and my sisters like "Hey, I just learned that last week" so yeah.... but it is supposed to be harder than it looks...

Yes, and also, those 5th graders are ringers...obviously they are not average-intelligence 5th graders. I want to be on a show called "Are You Smarter Than a Dumb 5th Grader!"

I think they really are from the grades they claim. But kids can answer them easier because they just learned that stuff. With adults it's been years and years.

Yes, I feel the same way. But, on the other hand, why is it that some of the easier questions the contestants don't have a clue?????

no. i actually think the questions are easier than that grade level. but that's just my opinoin. after all, i am in the gifted section, so maybe it's just my stuff and not what everyone else in the school learns.

I went to college and dont know some of those answers...I think they must be on the harder side of any grade level.....it kinda stumps me how they get those questions.
