It really depends on who you are and what you like to do. Here are some of my favorite places:
1. Southern Utah, USA (Zion, Bryce, Arches, and Capitol Reef National Parks). If you like hiking, mountain biking or whitewater rafting, or if you just like seeing amazing scenery - from deserts to red rock to mountains and waterfalls - you will enjoy this part of the world. It's really on of my favorite places to go.
2. Santorini, Greece. I know it has become a bit touristy there, but it really is heaven. Mountains, ruins, wineries, islands, beaches. Wonderful.
3. New Zealand. The people are so wonderful. It's safe - not even predatory animals there so you can feel comfortable camping out. The scenery is incredible and diverse (glaciers, mountains, beaches, thermal pools, volcanoes), and at this point it isn't too crowded or touristy. Of course, there's a good reason for that: it's far away from virtually everywhere. Still, given the opportunity I'd go there any day of the week. It's worth the long flight(s).

Good luck with planning - as long as you are with people you like and have a good attitude, nearly anywhere can be a great holiday destination. Hope you are able to find the right place for you.

That would depend on your likes and dislikes.... if you like to Ski and you like winter fun, then Colorado, Vermont, Northern California, Utah, Wyoming in the USA.... Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Germany in Europe.... if you like summer and hot and oceans, then ANY coastline will do but favorite spots are Maine, Myrtle Beach, SC, Virginia Beach, ANYWHERE on the California coastline, Florida (either coast) San Padre Island, Texas... and Mexico.... If you have to consider Children and amusement areas, try Tampa, Orlando, Hersey, PA, Annaheim, CA (Disneyland), Or, for a real adventure, go to Europe and get one of those train passes where you can go to MANY countries by train I think it's called a Europass..... Or, just call a travel agent and let him figure it out.

Whitby, in North Yorkshire.

Lots to do, a working port with lots of history (including the ruined abbey where Dracula reputedly landed).

Nearby is the North York Moors, where you can ride a steam train or visit the locations where Heartbeat was filmed.
