Foods that will not go bad sitting in a truck for a few hours that dont need to be heated. I dont have a fridge to put the stuff in and have to leave it in my truck for a few hours while I work. What are some things that could be left out and not go bad or melt?

Fresh whole fruit like apples, bananas, oranges would be good as long as the temperature won't be too high (like 90s, 100s). Crackers, like those little packs of cheese and peanut butter crackers, would be a good snack. So would grahm crackers, teddy grahms, things like that. A peanut butter sandwich would keep alright. You can freeze juice boxes, bottled water or soda and put it in a plastic bag so that by the time you're ready to eat it will be thawed.

the things that will go bad are foods with animal products like meat or dairy in them. bread wont go bad - vegetables and fruits wont go bad, but they might wilt depending on if they are delicate. Also, anything in a can or vaccum jar wont go bad so long as it was a regular non-refrigerated shelf item when you bought it. If you like to eat healthy foods you can pack a french roll by itself with some mustard on it and then a side container of sandwich veggies like a whole tomato, some romaine lettuce, small cucumber, slivered carrots. Take a pocket knife to cut and assemble. You can take an unopened can of tuna too, but that gets complicated and messy.

If you are good at cooking, almost any tomato-based vegetable soup without chicken broth will keep fine without refrigeration for a day. Cold pasta with tomato-based sauce is good. Bean salad is good. Gazpacho is good - ratatouille is great. Or you can pack canned vegetarian soup that sounds okay to eat cold. Steamed veg like broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, yams are tasty cold - you can toss them in olive oil, salt and pepper and that won't go bad in the heat. Chips and nuts and trail mix are good side snacks.

Bean & veggie burritos can be good if you cook and assemble them before you go to work. Best thing to do is take a min cooler with a small baggie of ice in it - and then you can take some perishable foods. And try not to store your foods directly in plastic wrap, styrofoam, or #3, 6, or 7 plastics in a hot car because the chemicals in the plastic can leach out into the food if its acidic or oily. Wax paper or parchment paper, brown paper, glass or stainless steel is best.

Cooked tuna in unopened cans.Open them only when you are ready to eat. Pack bread too, so you can make sandwiches. Heinz tomato beans in cans are also good for eating on the go.
If u need a heavier meal, you can include fruits like apples or bananas in your truck.

You can get an insulated lunch cooler. That will keep a sandwich cool enough. Slim Jims or jerky, peanutbutter sandwiches or crackers, chips, canned fruit, canned anything (meant, vienna sausages etc) My hubby keeps his lunch in his hot truck, too. The insulated bag with an ice pack inside does a great job of keeping it cool.

take a bottle of water and freeze it overnight....put this in the bottom of your lunch box and you can keep anything cold for at least 3-4 hrs. I pack my hubbys lunch and he gets a meat & cheese sandwich with lettuce, chips, fruit, peanut butter & honey on Ritz crackers, cookies, candy.....all little things he can either enjoy at lunch or as small snacks during the day!

Why don't you just buy a small cooler and some of those mini ice packs (they are usually flat and blue and you refreeze them every night) then you won't have to worry. You can get a lunch box size cooler.
