Buy some gravy and pour it on the mouse.

Maybe you should invest in traps or glue boards rather than relying on a cat to be a mouser.

Cats generally will not kill the mice because are not going to eat them. It's play for them because they are not hungry.

...and don't starve the cat to get them to mouse.

I'd hate to come to your house if you have a mice problem. Icky

She is intelligent. She has realised that a mouse let go is a mouse you can catch again.

The other possibility is that you feed her too well so she catches mice because she loves to play with things that move but she has never learned to kill them and eat them.

My two girls are just like that. We have one mouse somewhere in the house that when they get bored, they find it and play with it.
The problem is, they also go outside and catch mice and sit at the patio door to be let in with them.
They will sit there for hours at the door expecting to be let in with a live mouse..lol

Absolutely hopeless, I say.

Good Luck!

normal behavior for a house pet.if the cat was a stray or in the wild it will hunt and eat it.but since your cat is well fed at home, their predatory instincts kick in but not to the point of eating the mouse since it does not need to kill it just to get food.

plus dont call you cat retarded thats just mean..i actually find that behavior cute.i had a cat that caught a small snake once but killed it and placed it infront of the door..in a way its the cat's present to their owners when they do that.

Nope get a new cat then...I have a dumber than mud manx outdoor cat that doesn't even catch mice and she is stupid enough to get herself caught by the dog all the time. If the cat is not killing them there is no way to teach a cat to kill them, cats are their own person and don't train too well.

thats normal. I had two big cats that just played with the mice. One even brought it in the house and let it go!! ahhh

My cats do the same thing.....its simple really.....they have no reason to hunt, because they are well fed. I just use humane mouse traps and leave the cats to enjoy the lap of luxury as pampered house cats.

P.S. My daughters hamster got loose once and I panicked, I could just picture my 6 year old finding the "remains" of her hamster....yeah right....the cat was lying on his back playing with it in her bedroom..........thank goodness.

Many cats that are feed cat food do not make the connection between the hunt/play behaviors & the killing and eating behaviors.

They only kill mice when they are starving. Domestic cats are not interested in such a measly little bite.
