This is sad but in some cases true. Most Pastors recieve about 400 a week in pay. This pays normal bills and buys some food. the church also takes care of his lodging because this is what the Word says. Now, there are some Pastors, such as Lakewood, where the pastor recieves over 100 grand in an annual salary. TBN in the past has had the unfortunite occurance where money was made and taken. So to truely answer your cases i believe that in some ways to some people....YES....God Bless.

It certainly can be. Many priests do fill their long days with much baking and gardening. Kneeding dough, and even making pretzels. It's an old Gallente tradition, the mustard filled pretzel that is passed down througout the ministry. It has actually become a rather important part of all Gallente religious celebrations.
Godspeed, fellow pilot.

And a very effective way at that. I wonder how many preachers are just in it for the money. Of course, not all are in it for the dough. It is a play house for sexual predators as well.

Our church has an incredible outreach to the community. We fully support a school/orphanage & church in Haiti. There every need is supplied by our church. At the end of the year they print up a report regarding EVERY CENT and where it goes. It shows the pastors income and, let me tell you, it isn't a lot. Churches, whether you realize it or not, are non profit. The pastors at our church don't wear fancy suits (In fact our pastor wears shorts and a tee shirt during the summer) or drive fancy cars. So I don't know where you are getting your info. If you are basing non profit churches with several televangelists then you are stereotyping and that is very closed minded of you.

People are very crafty and selfish, they will use any means necessary to get ahead. And yes, a lot of people use religion to accumulate wealth.

It doesn't reduce down to JUST a money-racket, but that IS a fundamental aspect of religion and has always been.

The Prophet Muhammad's house was so small he had to ask his wife to move her legs so he could do the actions of the prayer. His matress left marks on his body. His wife said that months would go by where all they ate were dates and water

For some... yes. But consider their end, and what will all that gold be worth then?
Philippians 3:18-19
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.
