What kind of pit bull? Pit bull is a type of dog, not a breed.

One of the major mistakes pit bull (of any type) owners make is to allow their dogs around other dogs. They think their dogs grew up together and are best friends and will never fight. Then, the dogs get in a fight, one dies and the owner says how well the dogs got along and they never showed aggression, and the dog that didnt die is put down. That puts another mark on the pit bull types dogs.
Please, please be a responsible pit bull owner and if you do get another dog do not ever leave them alone together and please dont breed them.
Good luck with your pup! They are great dogs!

why are you in such a hurry. things take time, and since you already have another dog, it may take time to find the prefect companion for him. that being said. go to your local shelter. pit bulls are among the most common types of dogs in shelters today.

PLEASE ADOPT =)
There are way to many pitbulls and pit puppies in shelters and they are usuaully the first ones to get euthanized. Make sure she gets spayed. Congrats, they really do make great pets in the hands of responsible and affectionate people. I own 3 and love them like children.

Do not bring a second dog into your house until your male is 2 years old. Otherwise the dogs bond to each other and it reduces the roll of human as leader.
That also gives you plenty of time to find the animal you want rather than being frustrated with a one week look for a 15 year commitment. Being frustrated in that amount of time just says that you need to learn impulse control yourself.

sounds like you are in an awful big hurry - why so? is your current dog UTD on all shots? on heartworm & flea treatment? is he neutered?

If you said no to any of the above, you are not ready for another dog.

ANother good way is checking the classifieds in your newspaper under pets. They usually have listings of puppies.
