They swell & turn blood red (sometimes almost black) they look like scalding water has been poured on them, from my ankles down & my toes & fill like they are going to blow off. I don't have insurance so I can't get to see a Doctor & somedays I can barely walk. I know I am starting to retain allot of fluid because my cloths & rings don't fit right anymore. What could be causing this; I am really in a tremendous amount of pain. I can't afford to go to a Doctors office & the hospital says I'm not criticle so thay can't help me. So what can I do to help my self? I even have been cking my glucose level but it looks good. Can someone please help. I have nowhere to turn.

The first thing you do is DO NOT TAKE THE ADVICE OF Billie77. "Drs of Naturopathic Medicine" don't go to university medical schools like regular physicians. Ignore that answer!

WARNING: If you have a blood clot and massage it, you can dislodge it and cause a stroke or heart attack.

If you can't afford to see a doctor, go to your local health department and let the nurse see you. He/she can make recommendations and assist you in getting further treatment. There are no insignificant reasons why you would be going through the pain and symptoms that you are having. No one can tell you what's wrong without actually seeing your feet and legs. Your symptoms could indicate a blood clot or phlebitis (an infection of the blood vessels in your feet and legs). Heart problems can also cause some of you symptoms.

You say you can't afford to go see a doctor, actually, YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO SEE A DOCTOR... and do it quickly.

I had something similar to that only my feet didnt turn colors, but i had hard time to walk. my doc gave me special prostectic for the shoe, but & also put my feet in ice to cool the nerve. But really that's strange the hospital wont do anything that sounds crit cause when i heard your description it sounded like freezer burn, but anyway that sounds like your nerves are acting up. to fight the fluid retaining cut down on salt and sodium in your diet. If you eat those cheeze balls dont & had to sleep with my shoes on it kept the fluid away from my feet & i was able to walk. so get a tight, not cut the circilation off shoe not a sandal or open toe it's got to be a lace up & you know you're a woman so heels will work i remember a woman in the doctor office (foot doctor) once & even though she was walking like she was hurting she was walking, she was wearin a rounded pumps no stockings & was tender walking, but she was so go & do that see if it works some. I wish you could, but you really need a doc or try the hospital again & say you really need help it's an emergency & you cant walk sometimes

Go to the emergency room. They have to treat you and if they don't and something happens to you, you can sue them. Look around your area for health clinics that are based on a person's income. Most areas have one of those now. You aren't going to get a good diagnosis from here...being in the pain you are in and having the symptoms you have, you really need to be check out by a doctor.

If you are diabetic, messing with feet problems and not getting proper medical treatment can cause amputation and at worst death if you have an infection or high/low glucose levels. There are rare Neuropathy conditions even if you your levels are normal but you are still a diabetic (I know for a fact, my dad has one of them.) It could be high salt levels too. Too much salt can cause you to swell up.

I understand your situation of not having insurance and not being able to pay for a doctor. I'm in the same situation so I do the best I can to take care of myself.

You need to go to the Doctor. You can set up a payment plan with them.
