And would you use the green and closed cones full of sap (perfume?) or would you use the brown and opened (ouch!) cones?

I think this is a joke to some extent, but before toilet paper, people did use corn cobs and stuff like that. I wouldn't want to wipe with leaves just in case they were poisonous. If I were really out in the woods and had nothing else to wipe with, I might use a pine cone, but I'd look long and hard for a rag or a tissue or something else first.

A Pine cone??? Ow! Somehow I do not think that I want to replace excrement with pine resin. I sippose in an emergency a closed cone migh work, but I'll stick with leaves so long as they are not poison oak

Well, back in the old days they used corn cobs, so a pine cone is the next best thing with no toilet paper around. Besides, leaves are too flimsy to use.

Some people are into the anal/pine cone thing. I like to use large leaves from the gum tree.

Because it scrapes everything off without leaving a green streak from the leaf.

I think they are testing your gullibility. The important thing is that your wiping material be biodegradable and BURIED WELL! No one wants to come across some stranger's latrine!

pine cones have ridges, which help scrape all the poo crusties away, leaving a wonderful pine scented anus
