Get off the computer and look for him. It's hard to find anything starring at a screen.

First off, I'm very sorry to hear you lost your dog.
Although this is a frantic time, stay calm.
A year ago, my front door was accidentally left open and my dog ran out. By the time we realized he was gone, he was nowhere in sight.
Long story short, my advice is, chances are your dog didn't stray as far as you may think. When my dog was lost we searched high and low, went to animal shelters, and posted missing flyers for about a 2 mile radius. I also left a big sign in front of my house about my missing dog. It turns out my neighbor a few houses down saw my sign in my front yard and immediately called me. Apparently my dog was just hanging out in her patio in her backyard for the past couple of days just sleeping. The picture on the flyer immediately identified that the dog in her patio was mine.
Something to think about...when you walk your dog...what direction does he tend to walk? Try to remember his patterns or the route you take him when you give him a walk. Usually your dog will follow the same pattern. If you have another dog, take your other dog around when you search the neighborhood, the other dog will probably mimick the same route your missing dog takes. Also, use a dog whislte, the high pitched sound will definitely get your dogs' attention. Also if you have his favorite toy or a squeeky toy, bring that and walk around squeezing the toy.
Good luck. If too much time passes and still no luck, you might want to think about putting a lost ad in the newspaper..its free. Also check all the shelters in your area.

If you haven't found your dog by tomorrow, another thing you can do is check all the local newspapers (and keep checking every day for at least a week). Sometimes when people find dogs they'll put an ad in the paper looking for the owner.

I'm sorry to hear that you can't find your dog. If you really want him/her back, you will have to use your own personal time to spread the word that he/she is missing. Some quick and fairly simple ideas are to make posters, make a website or place an advert in a local newspaper or newsletter. I have a dog myself, so I know what it feels like when it goes missing. It's horrible. Anyway, good luck. I hope you find your dog soon.

I know local shelters (SPCA's) are great because I found a cat (actually kept crawling into our basement) and I called the local shelter to let them know. The owner also called the shelter and they gave that person my phone number. It turns out we were neighbors. I had previously knocked on almost every door in the neighborhood but missed just that one.
Just wanted to give you a picture of how helpfull just one call to the local shelter can be.
Take care and good luck.

Post in every free publication you can find (Pennysaver, Craigslist), put up posters in your neighborhood, call your local shelters, ask the neighbors if they've seen him. If you can afford it put an ad in the local paper, and offer a reward. Supply pictures so people know what they're looking for. I hope you find your puppy!

look around the house to make sure the dog isn't hiding somewhere.. look around your neighborhood a little too, for the same reason.. and then call the local shelters and animal control, and leave them your number in case a dog matching your description came in or comes in.. keep checking in with them, too
