Read, read, read, and exercise......oxygen to the brain will help. As far as food supplements you'd do well to take omega 3 supplements (like salmon oil capsules.....about 3 grams a day or more)! Reading exercises like crosswords are really really good. Studies have shown that folks who do these even have a lower rate of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. Also, peruse old photos and diaries that may jolt old memories back. Good luck to you.

I don't know what will improve memory other than just practice and repetition of something you want to remember. I'm quite sure that nothing you can eat will help your memory.

As for will power I'm suggesting an old book (in publication in 1997 since 1950) that may help you but it too takes study and practice. The book is:
