"Oorah!" for the infantryman is the same as "Airborne!" for the paratrooper. It is an outward expression of pride and elitism in the unit to which they belong and its mission. It goes far beyond shyness in any manner, but filled with confidence, courage, and willingness to always succeed regardless the mission ahead.
