To those who believe gods are omnipresent-
How can a god that is omnipresent be incapable of being detected with the natural senses?

If you also believe your god is omnipotent and omniscient and wants to be worshipped, why does this god not approach those who do not worship him in the way that it knows (because it is omniscient) will result in the person having enough information to choose to worship it, instead of denying the evidence the unbeliever needs to have free will and make decisions to worship or not based on free will?

Please answer honestly. No need for nastiness. If you feel this is an attack upon your religion, go take a walk or something and come back when you're less angry.

pwwatson, i would like to make a counter argument about your post.

you said that Jesus came and did miracles, and still people didn't believe. well that was in a time when there were no recording devices to record the miracles, no phones to tell people from far away of the miracles. and Jesus never sent everyone in the whole world a vision of him and god at the same time.

What this question is posing is "why does god not show himself NOW, when we have so many ways to document it. Why not show himself NOW, when we can immediately get on the phone and share our experiences with people from faraway(so we know the experience wasnt local)"

Its a fair question, and one i dont think is going to be answered by a christian who is blinded by thier faith.
God chooses not to show himself to us either because he cant, he doesnt want to, or he doesnt care. I am sorry if you dont like this opinion, but it is only logical.

How do you detect love with natural senses? (IE the five senses)
Yet you recognize love. How? Through relationships.

God meets us through other people. He reveals His creativity in the creation itself, and His testimony is the Bible.

People are souls with bodies. God is a Spirit. He knew people would ask the question you asked. You are not the first. Yet even when He came here and raised the dead, healed the sick, made the blind see (thus fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah) people STILL didn't recognize Him. Have you read what Jesus said and did when He was here? You have enough information. You just don't want Him badly enough. I promise you that if you wanted to know you would know - that is how come people are unable to fool God whether they are false Christians or false Jews (the Pharisees and Lawyers) - hear what He says to you -

Proverbs 8:17 - I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

God does not force Himself on people, Jesus never forced His opinion on anyone - He merely stated facts. It is up to you to decide how you respond. And you would be the first to complain if upon your death you realized the Bible was true - and your Christian friends and neighbors had not told you. I have seen this. People come to believe and are stunned that the Church is so silent about the gospel. How much information do you need? Look at the world around you - do you honestly think it, and you, are accidental?

It is not information which causes people to worship God, it is a recognition of an emptiness inside which can be and is only filled by God.

You have free will, start here. The author was a sceptic.

He isn't undetectable.
He made a universe so vast and so awe-inspiring, a world with such beauty and diversity, even stars in the sky that "sing" (funny how the Psalmist got that one right 3000 years before scientists discovered that stars produce music) -yet people believe there was no Designer, it all happened by chance, not God.

He intervened in human history -performing miraculous signs and wonders before the Israelites, rescuing them from Egypt -yet they didn't believe either and chose to worship a golden calf instead, just days after seeing the Sea part, Pharoah's army drown and food rain down from heaven.

He sent prophet after prophet, some of them also performing miracles, but also with a message that God was going to do this or that, which He then did. Still no belief in Him that lasted.

Finally, He came down as one of us, did miracles and most amazingly of all, came back to life after He was dead for three days and people still said He was a fake.

Quite honestly, I don't think there is any "proof" that God could give that would satisfy all skeptics (or even most). They would explain an appearance or a miracle away as a trick, a natural phenomena or an hallucination. Jesus Himself said that people already don't believe the Law and the Prophets, that wouldn't change even if someone were to come back from the dead. The reason is that folks don't want to give up being god of their own life. They prefer to worship themselves rather than God.

This is why God instead reveals Himself to people who have faith in Him first. He rewards their search for Him and they see Him, not with their eyes but with their soul.

"God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship in spirit and in truth." What about that verse of scripture is difficult to understand. Because of his Glory not man can look upon him. Such radiance is beyond human comprehension. There are some who try to prove God--he cannot be proved. He is not a scientific experiment--he is to be worshiped. The theistic statement in Genesis 1:1--In the beginning GOD. You either believe by Faith or you don't--God is a fact by Faith--if you need proof--then you don't need faith. Why can't Science comprehend--many religions depend on a proof of something--they can see it-they can prove-they can touch it--but God is spirit and his designed is to be worshiped. With Faith--facts can be supported. This is so simple a child can understand--you have parts of your psyche that cannot be filled by knowledge--emotions(likes-dislikes) love(not logical) desires--logic defies.
Somethings you believe--not logical--but Faithful
Freewill is logical--to opt to or not to. Despite you consequences. You are the proof of freewill. You know what is written, you say so what--I have the right to believe what I choose--is that not free will? If it was not freewill--we would all believe--that is the logical proof of free will. Consult Philosophy of Religion to find your quest of omnipotent and omniscient . You can see for your self how the two work hand in hand. If you desire facts as proof that Faith is possible
God says this is the way--you choose to believe or not--that's God program. BELIEVE OR DON'T BELIEVE

because it would not be faith would it? He is everywhere though- look around you- how could you not believe that HE created everything. I am not upset that you asked this question- far from it-I am thankful so that I can explain it the best way I know how- God did reveal Himself to us, through His Son- look to Him, and see God. Jesus said- "IF you have seen Me,. you have seen the Father"- You do not have to live at the time of Jesus to see Him and believe- none of us lived at the time of George Washington, but you cannot say, because I did not live then, he did not exist. However one thing is different- George is still dead, Jesus is alive!! That is what I believe- you wanted an answer so I tried to tell you in a way that would not offend, if I did, I am sorry.

we can only detect or sense what is within our 3 dimensions. God is the seven-fold spirit (per Rev.), if that means 7 dimensional then we may very well be seeing him everyday but, like shadows (2 dimension renditions of 3 D objects) we may not recognize a 3 D rendition of a 7 D entity.

God is spirit. He is always present. We may not always be able to see him..but we can perseive him. We can choose not to see him, although he is all around us, for our own selfish reasons. Maybe we just don't like the idea of being accountable to someone who knows us so completly. We have blocked ourselves off from him completly, by building walls and putting up barriers. But he is there none the less. Always there for you. Just look. Really look.

Great question.

This is my opinion. I think that it is left up to us to decide what we believe because we are here to learn and experience things. If we HAD to do things a certain way we would never learn and advance ourselves. So I don't think we HAVE to do any worship or believe in if we don't want to.

Excellent, excellent question.

I have always pondered that. Why can't this omnipotent god present an argument so logical and reasonable that a logical and reasonable person would accept without question?

Why doesn't he give us all the same dream/vision at the same time?

I would love for there to be a loving god out there, I just don't see any reasonable answer out there to confirm it

All of the stars and planets in our universe that can't be detected by our senses still exist, seen when our telescopes get bigger and better. Did they not exist when they were not seen? No. Good luck.
