Nephi is referring to the only true Church of Christ. When we accept the atonement of Christ, repent of our sins and are baptised into His Church we become part of the chosen people. No longer are we gentiles, or non believers, which is how they were referred to in those days.

I have been under the impression he was referring to the future LDS church as founded by J Smith. I believe he was attempting to make a "prophecy" that pointed to him as the next prophet, thereby justifying his book. It's like shooting an arrow into a barn then drawing a target around it.
The only mistaken part is assuming the book of mormon is 'true' simply because Smith said so.

The vision that Nephi saw refers to the true believers in Jesus Christ. Yes, Jesus is the Lamb of God. Therefore, He is talking about the Church of Jesus Christ. Without naming what that Church is, it refers to the true Church of Jesus Christ and all that follow it. As for the Gentiles, that refers to anyone who does not follow the Church of Jesus Christ. Certainly from the perspective of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that Church of the Lamb of God would be referring to our Church, the source of the revealed scripture from whence your quote cometh.
What I recommend that you do is to pray about the Book as you read it. Pray before you read that your understanding might be enhanced. Pray after you read that you might understand what you read. If you read, ponder and pray with sincerity, faith and humility, you will feel the answers come to you.
I testify to you that the book is true. It is scripture. It is another testament of Jesus Christ to all the world. I have studied it all my life and have felt the truth of the book flood my soul with peace and comfort. Read Moroni 10:3-5.

the place do you get that we've faith the UMC to be the church of the devil? No missionary ever reported that. We have faith that men like Martin Luther and John Wesley have been sent by potential of God to pave the way for the fix. i replaced into born and raised UMC. i replaced into by no potential advised this. i don't comprehend why you have this great chip on your shoulder approximately some thing which you have have been given tremendously plenty made up. as far as team spirit is going, in basic terms ask your UM pastor approximately working with the Mormons on some thing, and notice how far s/he needs to unite with the Mormons. Even after 30+ years being LDS, my mom nevertheless thinks i'm in a non-Christian godless cult. She's even been to the baptism of one of my youngsters, and the open living house of our temple while it opened 15 years in the past. So, sorry, we are actually not people who won't unite with others. in fact, growing to be up, our little city had approximately 13,000. We had 3 UM church homes, and a couple of or 3 Lutherans, and a pair 3 Baptists. between our 3 UMChurches, I observed a great form of enjoying what I observed as "musical church homes". If it is common to hire a pastor that others did no longer like, they could connect one in each of the different Methodist church homes. in many situations, it replaced into between St. Pauls, and St. Marks. First UMC replaced into the main advantageous UMC, the place absolutely everyone who replaced into somebody belonged. properly, until eventually now, while St. Mark closed down, and merged with First, making Christ UMC. See, it extremely is the place i can't see any "team spirit". edit: robert C, first, the "mark of Cain" element began with the church homes of the South to justify slavery. The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints has constantly had black human beings as participants. they simply weren't allowed to hold the priesthood until eventually 1978. And what e book by potential of "martin 1978 p. 192" are you relating? i've got by no potential heard of this style of e book. the only "martin" i comprehend of replaced into "Dr." Walter Martin, who replaced into virulently anti-Mormon. and how do you justify calling Joseph Smith a charletan and rip-off artist?

i believe this is an issue that has confronted many latter day saints. 'Lamb of God' does mean Jesus but in this matter all Christians are not included. As Joseph Smith himself once said "only the true believer is the one who can answer himself truthfully"

You are quoting things from the Book of Mormon. The BOM and the Bible are two separate worlds, it's like night and day. The Bible contains 66 little books written in about 1600 yrs time to make up a complete manual for mankind to learn about God and get close to Him. Apostle John being the last writer to write the last five parts of the Bible in 98 C.E. and completed the God's word the Bible. After apostle John, there should not be anything additional, add or subtract from the Bible.
Some Mormons feel that their BOM is neccessary to fix Bible. If that is the case, they should have no problem binding their BOM and the Holy Bible together as one book not a separate entity. Wouldn't you agree?
Here's what the Bible have to say.
Revelation 22:18,19 “I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll.
Isaiah 48:17 “This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk.”
Psalms 19:7-10 "The law of Jehovah is perfect, bringing back the soul. The reminder of Jehovah is trustworthy, making the inexperienced one wise. 8 The orders from Jehovah are upright, causing the heart to rejoice; The commandment of Jehovah is clean, making the eyes shine. 9 The fear of Jehovah is pure, standing forever. The judicial decisions of Jehovah are true; they have proved altogether righteous. 10 They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much refined gold; And sweeter than honey and the flowing honey of the combs."
1 John 5:3 “For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome."
Deuteronomy 30:11 ““For this commandment that I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it far away.
Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O earthling man, what is good. And what is Jehovah asking back from you but to exercise justice and to love kindness and to be modest in walking with your God?"
Only the true follows of Christ (adhering to the teachings of God's word the Bible alone) made up the congregation the body and Christ is the head. (Colossians 1:18) The head of Christ is God.
The gentiles that referred to in the Bible is anyone but Jews. Before Jehovah God rejected the Jews, they were God's chosen people and anyone whom were not worshipper of Jehovah were called gentiles.
