You should probably go with the big two, Prime Time Shuttle or Super Shuttle. You can get a quote from their web sites (www.primtimeshuttle.com or www.supershuttle.com)

well during commute hours (after 3:00pm) there is connecting service
from LAX (really on Sepulveda near Lax)
you can board a LADOT bus 573 which will take express
to then Encino Park and Ride there you will transfer to
LADOT 423 which will take you to Thousand Oaks Transit center
heres are the schedules for those line I mention
http://www.ladottransit.com/comexp/routes/574/574.html
http://www.ladottransit.com/comexp/routes/423/423.html
remember these route only work during commute hours
anything earlier will would different routing's..[shown below]
the fare would be $2.65+.25 for a transfer to the 422 bus
and on the 422 about .80 cent more
now if you are not traveling during that time
you can board a flyway bus to Union station (will be $4.00
in July) to Union station, then take the Red Line here
you have a choice you can get a day pass (will be $5.00 in July or you can pay $1.25 on each mode of transit
from Union station take the Red Line subway to North Hollywood station (last stop) then board the Orange Line
to its last stop (in Warner center) then board the Metro
161 to thousand oaks,,

I work at LAX and YES take Supershuttle or Primetime Shuttle. They also have a bus that goes to Ventura. Check with the Travelers Aid Booths located in every terminal on the arrival level.

Super Shuttle. Reservations are not required at LAX - just jump in and go.

You can take the metro rail, although you probably should keep your head down and your bagsclosereallyreallyclose. the green line to the blue line to the gold line and it will cost $3.00. takes about an hour and a half though.
