The 'tumble' is really easy: all you do is 'duck' so that your head doesn't hit the end of the pool. You need to keep both legs straight and together when you do this, just like 'surface diving' straight down.
Until you've practised a lot, you won't tumble very fast; you need to wait while your head and bottom change places.
When you get the rhythm right, you'll be able to bend your knees so that your feet touch the end of the pool, when your face is still underwater and facing the surface. Then push off (still completely underwater). BE CAREFUL, because the first few times you manage to do this, the direction of your push will be unreliable.
After you've learned to tumble and push, (so that you glide back along the lane underwater, and on your back), you can start to add a turn (actually half a turn).
To do this, you just spin around while pushing off. You can practise by jumping up in the air (not too high), arms stretched up above you, and try to turn 180 degrees before you land. If you can do this without bending sideways or landing somewhere else, then you can do the turn underwater.
With practice (don't worry about it to start with), you'll start to blend all the movements, so that the 'tumble' includes a quarter-turn, and the 'push' only needs to supply the other quarter. The less you turn while you push, the easier it is to get the 'glide' long and smooth, and to break the surface where you want to.

The Flip – the somersault required to change direction.
• When your hands turn palm down, tuck your chin straight down against your chest.
• Keep your arms next to your body and do a small dolphin kick to initiate the somersault. DO NOT USE YOUR ARMS TO SUPPORT THE TURN! You will be in a streamline position ready to push off the wall if you keep your arms next to your body.
• Execute a curved back pike much like doing a toe touch sit up as quickly as possible. The speed of the flip turn is determined by how strong and fast this pike is.
• Pick up your heels by bending the legs at the knees. Keep the legs and feet together at all times. Maintain a near to or almost parallel body position with the surface of the water. Your feet will come out of the water and move toward the wall. When your feet come out of the water, you should untuck your chin.
• When the heels of the feet touch the water, your feet should be moving toward the wall faster than they are moving down toward the surface of the water.
• When the feet come in contact with the wall, you should be flat on your back with the knees bent about 90°.

There's different types of turns. You could do a flip turn which is where u do a somersault and push off the wall or you could do an open turn where u juts touch the wall jab Ur elbow back and push off the wall. my swim coach says elbow Ur sister or brother then answer the phone. that's how we learned it. it depends on the stroke you do 2!

It is called a flip turn. It is pretty complex. ]Here are some web sites that can give you an idea on how to do one correctly. It will take alot of practice. While you are turning make sure you blow out of your nose or you will get water up your nose.
