At the time of death the dying person will see the angel of death, coming to take their soul. The soul of the dying person comes up to his throat. If it was a good person, they will see angels with their faces glowing and smiling, but if it was a bad person then he will see the angels in a scary form:
when the wrong doers reach the pangs of death and the angels stretch their hands out, saying: Deliver up your souls.
(Surah 6;93)
If thou couldst see how the anguish receive those who disbelieve, smiting their faces and their backs and (saying): Taste the punishment of burning!
(Surah 8:50)
“The soul of the faithful person, which is easily removed from the body, is clothed in a heavenly and sweet smelling garment by radiant and smiling angels. The soul is taken through the seven heavens, entering the presence of God who then orders the angels to return the soul to its earthly body until the day of judgment. On the other hand, the soul of the unbelieving person is removed from its body with a great deal of struggle. The angel of death clothes the soul with a foul smelling garment. The angel responsible for the wicked soul also tries to take the soul through the various levels of heaven but he gates of heaven are not opened to them (7:40), and the soul is then returned to the body.

Good questions...but all are bad answers though. We create what we experience in this earth. So we do something here we pay here. There is no afterlife per se, just a greater knowledge of what was unknown to us here on earth. I do believe on reincarnation, so I don't see heaven as a place where you go for ever...I actually don't see heaven at all. Summerland is more like it...there is no hell, hell is what you make your life to be sometimes. Is all in you.

People see different things....
My mom said my grandma was calling out to my grandpa who had died 4 years earlier. My mom finally told her to go be with Herb, she smiled, took one last breath, and that was it.
My best friend asked her Dad what he was staring at in the corner of the hospital room. He told her that Jesus was waving at him to hurry up and come home. He died a few hours later, after his son had finally gotten there to say goodbye.
So... who knows what is happening in those final moments. We won't find out until it happens to us.....

Because either the angels of heaven or the demons of hell are coming to get them. A person in their last moments finally see it as reality. Although they've known the two choices most their life.

They see nothing...because nothing exists after you die, and the reactions are different all depends how much food ate before they died, and how much money they are going to leave behind to the ungratefully benefactors and relatives.
