I answered your other question as well, so I won't go into as much detail about my personal history. When I found out I was pregnant even though I had been reliably taking birth control pills for 11 years, I had been having periods right along so we had nothing except an ultrasound to go by to determine my due date. I was 17 weeks pregnant and had been taking the Pill up until the day I found out I was pregnant. I was very concerned about the effects of that on my baby. However, my doctor assured me that there has been no evidence linking taking birth control pills while pregnant to any problems with the development of the baby. Because I was 38 and developed Gestational Diabetes, I was considered high risk, but my baby was born just fine and healthy and is now an equally healthy 9 year old.

They don't think the pills will affect the baby. They don't really know for sure. All you can do is stop taking it as soon as you think you're pregnant.

I don't think it will affect the baby, but make sure they tell the doctor the circumstances!
