May I politely ask why we can't be civilized here? It is not a bad thing, civil behavior. In fact, if it is an argument, a point-of-view you are expressing, it was ever so that being respectful of the 'opponent' is a major plus. Schoolyard bullies never win in the end.

I agree with your assertion. However I think it is in part the anonymity of the Internet. Also the talk show culture which has created self aggrandized monsters who try and obliterate everyone's opinions in favor of their own.

Folks do not have to be on their best behavior as they might say in a work place.

Bullies are actually cowards posing as someone clever or powerful

The yahoo message board shut down in part due to the same miserable type posters

you can appeal to "their" better nature, but some do not have one
being miserable is all they know
its the nature of the Internet

Religions have been designed, historically, to provoke exactly what you are seeing. It breaks people down into an "us and them."

Why would they want to do that? Get a book on psychology and read about Groupthink, also know as "group levil consciousness."

The concept is a little like you see in the funny papers: there's an absolute good guy and an absolute bad guy. Obviously, for anyone with common sense, it's not that simple in real life.

You are pretty silly, aren't you? What a childish thought you have. Christians are the schoolyard bullies. Why not abandon them to their childish behavior, and come join the grown ups, you know, the ones who can think for themselves.

It's a new day friend, where people grow up not ever being exposed to any social rules. It is a world that had no parental guidance.

in basic terms try examining a small pattern of Christian postings at here!!! illiberal, egotistical, hate crammed and bigoted!! Eschewing practise, technology, evolution works of fiction and plenty, plenty extra. Christians are the only faith opposing human rights and persecuting gays, professional decision and so plenty extra - yet far worse mutually as they call for freedom of religion they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them!!! it is the christians describing themselves certainly?!! Gandhi reported, “i admire your Christ; i do in comparison to your Christians. they're so in comparison to your Christ”!!!!!!! the solid christian that believes in a loving god and acts like it kind of feels to are starting to be extinct years in the past!!
