Ohhh no, no no you've got it all wrong!

CAT scans are powered by electricity converted from sound energy.

You put approximately seven cats in a giant blender, and the noise from the blender, the meow of the cats that start spinning around, and eventually their howls will power a very cheap CAT scan.

Totally morbid... But after all...

In the name of science!!

Its a popular misconception that cats are used.In fact C A T stands for Caterpillars and Tortoises.
Because caterpillars have many legs, only a small handful are required. The tortoises are used as supervisors to the caterpillars. On a good day speeds of 3miles a day.

It actually takes quite a few... 714 for the cheaper ones. They have giant hampster-type wheels for each of them, (they call them 'cat-wheels') and they dangle catnip in front of them to make them keep going. All those wheels power the machine, which only works by cat-power because the inventor was a crazy cat person and he needed to find something to do with his 900+ cats or the city was going to take them away from him. True story.
