Mommy still is very thin Vet says it is ok I called another to check and they said the same. She has always been athletic and slander with lots of muscle. Is she ok or should I seek another vet. She is very energetic and is starting to play like she did befor pups but she is my baby and I don't like her this thin.

Hey there. My golden retriever was the same way. The vet said she was a bit of an obsessive mom. She nursed them until they left at 7-8 weeks. By the time all the pups were gone she looked terrible. I felt SO bad for her! Now though she looks better than ever (3 months after the last pup left). Her fur that was falling out in patches has come back so full and shiny and I swear she is bigger (more filled out) than she used to be. I think that your dogs slenderness is just good mothering and you shouldn't worry. 2 things we did though were give her vitamins and put puppy "formula" (it's a powder you can probably get it at pet smart - a friend gave us what we used) on her dog food it gives her extra nutrients and I think tastes good.

You dont have anything to worry about! She is simply feeding all that food you give her to her puppies. When they are totally done nursing she will slowly start to put the weight back on!
