Every religion has their well studied theologians who know the original texts, etc...

Every religion interprets scripture differently. Many theologians from different religions will look at the exact same verse and come to different conclusions.

Which is correct, and which is incorrect?

Baptists, Presbyterians, Methodists, United Church of Christ or Assembly of God...of the protestant religions...which is correct.

then compare protestant to Catholic?

Catholic to Muslim, Jehovah Witnesses

Jehovah Witnesses to Mormons.

Please don't give me the he who believes that Jesus is the son of God and was raised from the dead, etc...I know the scriptures....and all protestant churches believe this...but, they split over other issues...so which is wrong and which is right?

All have been infiltrated by the Roman Catholic Church.

The only way that you can know for yourself which one is correct is to study the Bible for yourself. When you know the word of God then you will know who is right.

If you sincerely ask the Lord to help you and guide you you will find the answer.

I am non-denominational, I don't believe that any of them have the whole truth. Because the majority have a form of Godliness but deny the power thereof. It is very rare to find a church exactly how every individual believes. You have to find the one that is closest to your own faith.

The Lord helped me in this way. I asked him the same questions when I got my first Bible. I had been raised around many different denominations and they all disagree on something. I asked the Lord what is right? He began to reveal things to me through the study of his word. I had set everything aside that I had been told. And search the scripture myself to see who lined up.

There was a group of non-denominational churches the Lord let me know they were the closest to his will.

You're asking the wrong people. If you want to know what the "correct" religion is, you'll have to ask God. Visit different churches, talk to ministers and priests. Study the theological differences and spend some time in prayer and meditation - ask for guidance on your spiritual journey, whatever that road might be.

For myself, I'm Catholic. I'm Catholic because the Catholic Church was the first Christian Church, and it preserves the spiritual traditions of the early Church along with the complete Scriptures. Catholicism, however, is not the easiest form of Christianity to embrace, and it's not for everyone. If you're looking for the "right" religion, then you need to find the one that's *right for you*. I firmly believe that God is basically a good guy and won't hold your particular theological preferences against you if you live a life based on love, honesty, generosity, compassion, respect, and unselfishness (among other similar virtues), as Christ taught us to live.

I am not sure that many Protestant Religions have well studied theologians that know the original texts. They have theologians and many are fine, it is just that the Protestants tend to skip over the early part of the Christian faith, because all Christians were Catholic for the first 1600 years.

The Protestant faith is now based on a "Personal Relationship" and less on the traditions and laws of God and Jesus, that is a very general statement, because there are thousands of Protestant groups, no two are exactly alike and there is no central leadership among Protestants to keep the preachers in line, some have become radical themselves (Jim Jones etc.)

Muslims and Mormons both believe in a new Prophet.

JW's, after seeing some of the lies and slander in their propaganda they leave on my door, I never felt a need to study further.

Good Luck and God Bless you search.

Why does who is right concern you? Are you struggling with your church or your faith?

The small things don't really matter much. The core issues are what should concern you. I believe that Jesus is our only saving grace, I can go to many, many churches and receive that information. I choose to go to a PCA church because I enjoy the methodology of the service and practices. That doesn't make other Protestant churches wrong, just different.

This actually all boils down to the fact that Christians really AREN'T mindless drones as some like to claim. We do in fact make decisions based on preference and research. Hence, different denominations.

You really can't separate the Protestant denominations as "right" or "wrong". At least most of them.

Most Protestant denominations agree that through the sacrifice of Jesus we find salvation and therefore are welcomed into the Kingdom of God.

Some denominations say that ALL religions lead to God. Avoid those. They are apostate churches who seek only to tell people what they want to hear. Paul calls it "Satisfying there itching ears" I believe.

Also avoid any that can be traced to one person, who had a "vision from God" and wrote a "new chapter" of Gods word. These are obvious frauds, and a little research shows there falicy pretty quickly.

those denominations that agree that Jesus is the only way to heaven, as you stated, split on issues such as tongues, infant baptism, woman preachers, and a score of other issues.

While I adhere to Baptist theology for the most part, I am rather charismatic in my worship, so I refer to myself as Bapticostal. Or Baptist with a twist.

To get to the point, the Protestant denomination that is correct is the one that says Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man gets to heaven except through Him. (this is obviously a paraphrase)

All the other little nuances are up to God to sort out.

Find a church that you like that preaches the gospel and enjoy life. Worrying about something like different worship styles is like trying to dress a pig. You waste your time and annoy the pig.

It's not so much correct or true, as fits you or does not. They all have very different interpretations, and those interpretations even change over time within the same church. The King James Bible lasted a good long while, but there have been dozens, perhaps hundreds, of "modern" interpretations in the last 50 years or so.

There's no easy way out, except to reject the whole concept and go your own way. If you want to be a Christian, you will need to either accept the interpretations, and the creed, symbols and rituals, of whichever group first converted you, or you will have to study them all and see which one makes the most sense to you.

Dude a book can be written on the differences of the protestant denominations, but the differences have no bearing on salvation, so they are insignificant differences to say the least. Now I can say for a fact that Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Muslims, and possibly even the Catholic church are wrong, specifically in the matter of salvation. That is the biggest and most important difference between them and the the protestant church. The protestant church believes in "Sola Fida" meaning that salvation is by faith alone, not of works. We don't do good works to get saved, like the other religions you mentioned, but do good works because we are saved. Huge difference of motivation there, and the religions that believe that you have to maintain good works to get into Heaven demean the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross, and they are basically saying that what He did for us wasn't good enough.

Any that affirm the Gospel.

Technically theyre not different religions as they all believe in the same God. They are different "denominations."

I would say there are some more correct than others but its important to note that many of the differences are superficial and not necessarily matters of faith invariably.

Catholicism is generally considered the most wordly and sub-Christian sect possible while still affirming the Gospel. JW's and Mormons are NOT Christian because they deny things like the trinity, the Holy Spirit, and who Jesus and mankind really are/were.

It really depends on which doctrine youre talking about. There are the doctrines of baptism, salvation, grace, method of atonement, Christology, etc. I believe that anybody can attain a Holy Spirit inspired view of the things that truly matter like salvation and Christology if they submit to God and hold their church up to the light of the Gospel.

Knowing the Scriptures and understanding the scriptures are two separate things. You have said that you stopped preaching because...You evidently know the scriptures. It is not a trite statement to say--"All they that cry LORD LORD shall not see the Kingdom of heaven." Do you feel you are living in sin? The stance the Methodist church is anti your belief. Who and what is the true church he who believes that Jesus is the son of God and was raised from the dead. shall be saved. That is what Heaven is made of.: There is no denomination only SAINTS in heaven Religion is for this world.

Well the Catholic Church is the only one Christ started. We know He started one in approximately 33 AD and put Peter in charge, as the scriptures tell us.

He also called it His "church", not "churches" such as all the branches of Protestantism, which by the way didn't start until the 16th century.

Also, we know from history that the earliest Christian Church was called "Catholic" in writings that existed around 100 - 110 AD.
