Okay, So I work in an emergency room and so I am constantly coming in contact with people from the community. It drives me up the wall when people can't pronunciate correctly or when you ask for them to spell they say it so fast you can't understand them. Also, why do people go into a public place without bathing. I swear the average person that walks into my office hasn't bathed in weeks and their teeth are NASTY! What the heck are they thinking!

Let me clarify my complaints here. These people come into the emergency room for stupid sh!t like a stuffy nose. Haven't you ever heard of walgreens? These people are native to this land...I can promise you that. I'd understand if it was a real emergency...I wouldn't get all dressed up, but I would at least have my teeth brushed and wear a bra. lol.

They don't bathe because they enjoy their own personal aroma. They are ghetto and can't talk right, and who even knows if they actually know how to spell.

Be lucky you aren't dealing with the types of things that my mom used to deal with at the ER...she had people coming in all the time with various things stuck up bum's or girly bits. Haha.

Sounds like you need a vacation...

However you should probably understand that when people come into the emergency room they are not in the best frame of mind. They are nervous and that probably explains the fast talking and trouble pronunciating. When you are hurt or someone you car about is, your mind is racing and it is hard to focus on things like "how do you spell your last name?"

As for the not showering, anyone who is in the emergency room probably wasn't expecting to be there when they woke up that morning so excuse them for not grooming themselves to your standards. But isn't there a saying about always wearing clean underwear....?

Agian...take a vacation.

1. They do not pronunciate properly because English is not their native language.

2. They do bathe, but they had an emergency and had to go to the emergency room without doing so.

Speaking of which, let me re-emphasize that: It's the emergency room!!! I certainly would not expect men in business suits and women in skirts/blouses to stroll in elegantly with perfume/cologne...

In the ER you get the cream of the crop. Just smile, remember it could be you standing there with a loved one hurting

It is amazing ... in this age of soap & water, shaving cream and deodorent ... and especially in the US.... we have so much.....

Just because you wear jeans does not say you don't need to be nicely groomed.... and your shirt nicely pressed ...

and some places are distinctly 'backwater' ..

The word is enunciate. Not pronunciate.
