Obviously you don't know what BS you are spewing. Police departments were among the first ones along with the Military to have unannounced urinalysis testing. Too bad Lawyers and Judges aren't required to do it though, these are the folks that make the decisions to let the criminals that have the guns, take the drugs, and run FROM Officers in high speed pursuits GO FREE !!!!!

you could not be more wrong pal. When an officer is involved in a accident, minor or not, they are subject to a urinalysis immediately. They also go under more testing then you can imagine to become a police officer, the academy, the field training, psychological profiles, and yes random drug testing.

The state requires a urine test prior to be accepted as a police officer and we're subject to random drug screens for as long as we continue to be employed by the department.

I work in behavioral health. We care for/teach/monitor people with developmental disabilities and or mental illness. We are required to pass a background check yet we do not have to pass a drug screening nor do they do random testing. We have easy access to many drugs and we work with many helpless people.
When I worked elder care before this job we didn't even have to have a background check. We would work in elderly people's homes, many times have access to their finances and medications.
Pretty scary!

My department has random un-announced drug tests. You come to work and the Lt. orders you to go that day. You might want to do some research before posting mis-informed questions.

Interesting question, but quite untrue. We are randomly tested, as well as having to "pass" a urinalysis before we were hired. As far as I know all departments in my state have the same requirements.
If you study real hard you might pass it as well.

I dont know what you're talking about, I had to take one during my medical exam to get hired, I also "win the lottery" every few months for random tests.

I'm not sure where you are getting your information. My department does random urinalysis on a regular basis.

For many small towns in Oklahoma, they do not want the cost of UA's. That is the problem In my community. They are about as crooked as it gets. So, they DON"T do it every where!
