How can i get HD video (and at least standard audio) from my computer to me TV?

TV has HDMI, component, and S-video inputs. But, S-video isn't high def is it? anyways, on my basic laptop, is there a card i can buy that will have an HDMI out connection, or a component out connection?

You are correct S-video is SD only.
VGA can display HD, but looks like you don't have that option.

There are laptops with digital DVI outputs; however, in most laptops the graphics chip is integrated on the mother board, so it is very tough to upgrade;
In any case, try to see if you can upgrade to a card with digital DVI.
