you're right, your therapist can only do so much. You have to face your fears, and the therapist can help you, but only can assist you, you have to do the work. And remember, our fears tend to magnify things out of proportion. Trust your therapist and work on it.

OK, for one thing, it is a good idea to have your therapist there to help you. Whatever is going on with you emotions and memories is definitely affecting the way you handle your every day life. I also wanted to mention that if you feel unsafe about yourself, and if you feel like you are going into a depression or your suicidal, please confide in your parents, counselor or anyone else you trust. They are there to help. Otherwise, my suggestion is try to focus on what good things you can do during the day to get your mind off of the memories.

i have been in this situation also, and as you are trying to remember memories that obviously are not good ones, i would leave them were they are, let them slide when the thought comes into your mind, you need to learn how to control your mind to push the thought of thinking about it out so you can sleep, change your thought pattern when this happens and think of some thing else. i know you want to know and this is why your mind plays on it. but like you said your therapist helps you but its the in between time, let the in between time go. talk to your therapist about hypnotherapy to help get these things out as then they wont play on your mind, but saying this you dont know the memories could actually be more of a impact on our mind when rememberd i would suggest ..... there is a program to change and control your thought pattern talk to your therapist about it
