My good friend is going to be living at my house for 10 days to feed my dogs and let them run around the back yard. What is a good amount of money to pay her?

Agreed, $100 should be a minimum, but I'd actually give closer to $200. The job is not difficult, so it is not something you would expect to pay a lot for, but keep three things in perspective:
1) Your friend is sacrificing their own home/family to stay at yours for a good period of time.
2) You have given them greater responsibility than just watching the dogs. You entrusted your friend with the security of your house.
3) No matter what you give, it would be substantially less than sending your dogs to a kennel or a camp. Though you are paying your friend for their services, they are actually saving you.

If your friend is a teenager, they would be more than happy with about $100-150. (When I was 14 I did the same for neighbors and they graciously gave me $180 for 10 days.) For an adult I would recommend closer to $200. I tend to be more generous than most, but there's my input for what it's worth.

Generally a boarding facility would cost about 20 bucks a day, per dog (maybe a little less if they offer specials for multiple dogs, or if the dogs could be housed together.) So if you figure $20 x2dogs x10 days you're looking at almost $400 give or take. Since she'll be staying at your house, and the dogs are already used to your house, and should be fairly easy to manage, I'd say maybe half that price. Depends on how good a friend she is. If she's a really good friend, she'd offer to do it for free.. but even then, I'd take her out for dinner or at least give her a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant or shopping place! ;)

I take care of peoples dogs when they are away and I don't expect anything. I don't know how much maintenance your dogs require. Are you expecting her to walk them and take them places or just daily feedings and watering them. How much would she really have to do. If I could get paid to come over feed and water a dog, give them a little affection and make 100-250 as some people are stating, I need to go into the dog business. LOL. So I guess it depends on what you are wanting her to do and how much work she has to do. To me the max would be $100, but again it all depends on how much you want her to do with them.

I would say you would need to break it down in days and call boarding places and see how much they charge so you can come up with something fair but less than the cost of a good boarding facility. I was gone for 4 days and it cost me 150 dollars to board the one dog.
I would say that it would be good also to find out what she likes to eat and stock up before you leave

Most bording business charge based on weight. If it is at your house and you are providing food, then I would just do about $10 a day for large dog, $8 for a medium, and $6 for a small dog. Also, if there is traveling involved for your friend then I would tack on another $6.00 a day for gas.

Well, normally pet watching agencies are $20 each. I think you should pay her about $10 per day. Or you could pay her $5 a day and give her a gift.

The cost of food and 10 dollar's a day, depending on how close you are to you friend. Also make sure to take you friend out when you get back!

Mate I don't know about your good friends but I would mind my friend's dogs for nothing! Of course you would provide the dogs food but having to pay them? Can't say I would take anything. I'm sure you aren't expecting her to pay your power bills etc. while you are away.

I pay my pet sitter $15 per visit for 2 visits per day. If you are having someone stay at your house, it should be at least $20-30 a day.
