I have anxiety / panic attacks every now and then. And i always think that i'll die. But at times when i don't have it, i might think of my previous panic attacks and wonder when the next one will be. I get so worried and depressed after thinking continuously about it. I fear that i'll end up in the mental hospital. From there, i would always think of the possibility of admitting into it and never be able to be sane again. I think, I fear, i think , i fear. Sometimes, im so engrossed in thinking about that, that I'm unable to control my thoughts and just fall into depression and let negative thoughts overwhelm me. I dont' wanna stay this way forever. Does anyone else feels or have felt this way before? How did you overcome it? (postitive comments please) Thank You.

Have you ever been to a doctor for this?

What you're describing sounds like the the DSM-IV description of Panic DIsorder. There are plenty of medications that can help you.

I have had problems with anxiety and I have bipolar. I have been in the hospital several times. Some are better than others. If you dont ask for the help now you could possibly end up there. Its not a matter of sane or not sane its more like hey you are just going through a rough time and dont have the coping skills to deal. What has helped me is seeing a psychiatrist and a therapist. My friends dont help that much because its hard for them to understand so my treatment team has really been there for me.

I have felt this way before and to be honest, tried to overdose at one point on sleeping/anxiety pills. That landed me in the psych ward at the hospital. You can and will be normal again. You need to be properly diagnosed with either clinical depression, bipolar disorder, etc. Then your treatment can begin. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I promise. There is a plethora of medications out there and there is one that is right for you. Please be persistent in finding help. Don't let this control your life! I will be praying for you.

you need to see a therapist. I use to feel the same and after a while I could not take it anymore so I went to a therapist. She suggested medication, which I am totally against but she told me that medicine was the only thing that could regulate the chemical imbalance causing my problems. I feel so much better. You have no idea how good it feels to have no anxiety and feel normal. Please go see someone I promise you wont regret it.

If you are in college or high school then the therapist sessions are free for students. Good Luck!!

Your fears are eating you alive, you are obsessing over what might happen and therefore can't enjoy the moment. Get to your doctor and get some medication. Once you are on meds and they get the dosage correct, stay on them. Too many people make the mistake of thinking they are better once they are on the meds and they stop taking them.

My motto: Better living through chemistry

You sound to me like your obsessing .
find a hobby give yourself distractions and take your meds as they are ordered . and i would also suggest you let your PSychiatrist know you are still having these obsessive racing thoughts he may have to adjust your medication.

you are being your own worst enemy, suggest you might have OCD as well as an anxiety disorder and you may benefit from counselling, like immediately.
