NO !! Kamikaze Kurt
Kurt nearly wiped out Stewart's Jackman, Jason Lee, who had to dive onto the hood of Stewart's car to escape serious injury from another one of Kurt's adolescent temper tantrums.
I knew that this will never happen, but I've got to say it anyway, it is time for NASCAR to step up and suspend Kurt Busch for a few races because of his pit road actions in Dover. When is our sport's sanctioning body going to exercise some control over the drivers who represent all of us???Here's some perspective for you... Tony Eury Jr. got suspended for six races and fined $100K for having the wrong support brackets mounted on his race car. Since Kurt did'nt receive at least equal punishment for intentionally putting a guy's life in danger then all of NASCAR's safety hype appears bogus.
HANS devices, soft walls, restrictor plates and larger cars have all been implemented to make driver safety number one, but what sort of NASCAR safety devices are in place to safeguard crew members from guys like Kurt Busch intentionally running us over???
Helmets and fire proof shoes? I don't think that's going to be enough. The only protection that crew members really have is NASCAR's responsibility to mandate a sense of control and a priority of safety from each driver while navigating pit road.
I guess now we see where NASCAR's safety priorities are once now THAT we are able to compare Kurt's "punishment" with what Tony Jr. received at Darlington.
Remember Kurt, your annual salary as a driver is five times what we make our entire careers... even if you can't show any respect for your sponsors, your fans or how you represent Roger Penske, try to grow up and show some professionalism and class as a driver.

How did he not get suspended for a race or two? Harvick spun someone out on the track in a truck race years ago and got suspended for a cup race. No crew member were in danger then.
Good old NASCAR inconsistent and pissing off the fans. The prefer certain drivers and take car of certain driver. Oh, he is a past Champion, lets go lighter on him.
Go to Pocono this weekend and hold up a sign behind the SPEED stage that says "PARK KURT BUSCH".
Anybody going?

Nascar is a MONEY generated sport and the last thing you want to do is piss off the major sponsors of your sport. The Miller Lite car and /or driver being suspended is not good business sense from Nascar's point of view. Fining a DRIVER 100 points and $100,000 does not effect the SPONSOR but does hurt the driver and the team. NASCAR is not going to bite the hand that feed's it.

While I am not a Busch fan I dont hate the guy either. Having said that, he willfully and intentionally came into the pit area and with blatant disregard to the jackmans safety hit Tonys car. Not just the jackman was at risk either. If he had hit the tail end different he could have spun Tonys car into the wall and severely injured more people. Personally if he wasnt suspended for the rest of the season they should have precluded him from being elegible for the chase. Of course that would have penalized the sponsors as well and we know that we cant have that.

"chops busted" isn't the same as what Kurt recieved... How can you even compare any penalties put on Stewart or Harvick to this one!? Give me one time Smoke or Happy were fined $100,000 and docked 100 CHAMP. POINTS....

Yeah. I printed off a picture that was taken of the incident in the pits. Folks, from this view, it was a lot closer than it looked on TV. Kurt just got the equivalent to a slap on the wrist for the magnitude of the crime he committed. He did actually HIT Tony's car in the pits, and could have easily pinned the crew member. This penalty, in my opinion, should stem out further than just NASCAR. What he did, had it been in the outside world, would have been attempted murder. He got off easy...way too easy. But oh well. What can we do about it? Nothing.

This is just another sign of why NA$CAR is inconsistant with what they do. Kevin Harvick spins a guy in the truck race a Martinsville a few years ago, they make him sit out and fine him. Kurt "The Jerk" (as one reporter put it) almost kills someone or at least almost injure them and he get the good old SEC 12-4-A, this was not detrimental to the sport, this was detrimental to a crew mans health. UNREAL, i'm madder than a pig that doest have mud to lay in.

Apparently they have to wait for Busch to actually hit someone. I'm guessing their thinking is that "Well.. no one got injured so..." which to me, that's a load of bullcrap. He should have at least been suspended for two races and docked a heck of a lot more points and fined a lot more money.
It is sad when apparently having violations with brackets is the exact same thing as almost running over someone, endangering their life.
I feel sorry for Penske for having to go thru all this because of what his driver did.

Agreed....kurt new what he was doin....he new he was jeapordizing this guys life.....he could have seriously injured if not killed him....WOW....i thought nascar would really give it to him for doing that...it was soooooooo uncalled for!!! I am still in shock that it happened.....he should have been suspended from racing for like at least a month plus a steeper fine and more than 100pts taken away!!! Give me a break...hell thats not even a slap on the wrist.....that is basically laughing at the jack man saying "we know he could have done a lot more damage, but oh well"......I have never really cared for kurt and this just shows his true colors!!

Chops busted, but that's it. That's alot of money and someone contending for the chase, 100 points is alot too. Things could have been worse. He didn't hit the guy in the pit, could have, but didn't. The incident on the track was not 100% Kurts fault. This is his first offense... this year. His probation, I feel, will be a strict one.
