Hi again same problem of consonant ending words...this word even worse however there are


Tul - a type of fabric cloth, and only spanish word that might rhyme with pull

Yet there are other which are borrowed words from other languages and we call barbarísmos, or also names originally not spanish

Dhul_ its the brand name of a type of pudding they sell in stores
Yul - as in yul nrinner but is not a spanish name yet we pronounce it the same
Full - as in poker, its and anglicism and poker term also pronounced as in English

Baúl - trunk or box, case
Saúl - name of hebrew general
Lull - Last name of balearic origin and philosopher Raimón Lull
in catalan they have "cul" or **** - bottom, but its not spanish

And cant think of more - someone here said pool ´which in spanish is billar, of course if you want to use foreign words not in the spanish language the word that would rhyme better with pull would be "pull", if a language is not conventional and anyone can use whatever term they want then yes, I would choose pull, as in no me pull mi pierna, or don´t pull my leg ;o)

PS: On the pool issue I will just post the definition of the word billar in Spanish offered by the Reál Diccionario de La Lengua Española:

As you can see the 1st definition of the Dictionary, which is done together by all the Academies of Spanish speaking countries, not only by Spanish Academics, Billar includes both the 3 ball game without pockets or troneras, as well as the one played with 8 balls with pockets or troneras. This last one in the best of the Cases we call Billar Americano, but no Pool, as I explained this is a barbarism or incorrect use of a foreign word when there is a Spanish one that can be used. In the best of the cases Pool is not a word in the Spanish language - lengua but a word used in the habla - parole (according to Saussure´s differentiation between langue and parole. Basically, Parole or habla can include many words that people use, invent or misuse.

And if we just want to say any word that rhymes with pull the best is pull but I could invent some for this question like "pul" dame un "pul" - from pulir, - meaning as someone else wrote give me a polish, but all these is nonsense and I would like to see what Spanish dictionary with a minimum reputation includes "pool" in its vocabulary.

I am not an academicist but if we all start using the words that we want at the end, no one is going to understand each other. Which probably is the objective of many patriots just in order to assert their Nationality. And if that is the case then we should say that Spanish is only spoken by the people of Spain, all other countries speak other languages such as Peruvian, Guatemalan, Mexican or whatever since the national aspect is so important for them. Consequently, these languages, using their own nationalistic rationale, are not Spanish, and those who are so proud of their countries that use this forum to wave their national flags, instead of answering questions correctly to help other persons who came here - the LANGUAGE ANSWERS - for correct information, should not use nor the name, or words and rules of our Spanish language, change them and then say they are spanish words. First because they would be lying according to their own nationalistic principles, not mine. And next because they are demeaning the Spanish language by making counless errors, providing incorrect replies, and having not even the least consideration for the question/asker but noly for their own national egoes.

So if Answers is just a joke and ther are no rules grammatic, orthographic or of any kind here come more words of my invention since Spanish seems to be what one wants.

rul - a rule in english
nul - latin for nulo
incul - abbreviation just invented by myself for INCULTOS - UNCULTURED, UNEDUCATED OR IGNORANT.

Hey but lets us all raise the flag of our nations since one should not be a person or a human, first one should be a national cronie. I would asuggest to all these people that they only reply questions that specify e.g. "what is bullsñit in Guatemalan" or Mexican or Peruvian, Argentinian or whatever. Ifd you are so proud about your origin, and its more inportant than any reasoning or truth, then do not say that spanish is your motherlanguage or that you are a native.
