I am using Word to try and make a sign. I need the text in white and am using blue coloured paper. I thought that by putting the txt colour to white then it would print out white on the paper. However it instead comes out like a blank page !! So how do I write in white ?

you would probably have to print on white paper, printing only the background and leaving the text blank

There is no white ink to print with. I would say make the background of the document the color you want and the text white, then print it. You will use a lot of colored ink, but it will give you the same effect.

Change the color setting from black to white in whatever program your using to print the text, (make sure you type it first before you change it or you wont be able to see the words when you make it). Then replace the blakc with white ink cartridge and print. The first step might not be necessary depending on how cannon use the ink for printing white.

You cannot print white on blue paper with an ink jet printer. White is printed by an ink jet by simply not putting out any ink, since paper is normally white. You can only add color, not subtract, so printing black on blue paper is your best bet.

There is no such thing as white ink, so I suggest you do 2 things: 1) make your text a very light gray color and 2) highlight your now "gray" text, click "Format Font" and under "Font Effect" select either "Shadow", "Outline", "Emboss", or "Engrave" to make the text stand out. Hope this helps.
