Outstanding point! But consider this, how many commonplace things are done every day, that require faith, yet no one ever taught us to believe? Sitting in a chair, or taking a train or airplane. You have to believe the chair will not collapse, the train will run properly, not colliding with anything. You have to believe that the plane will not fall out of the sky. You also have to believe that the conductor or pilot knows what they're doing, and can get to the right destination. We both know all of these things aren't always the case. We naturally believe. But, you're right. The church needs to tell people that belief is a matter of heart, not mind. That God gives every man the same measure of faith. And that whether we believe it or not, we always believe in something.

Almost all Churches consist of two parts. The outer part for the majority and the inner part for the few people like you who seek something more. It is called Mysticism. I am a Greek Orthodox and I have found many books that talk about practical issues and HOW to do things. The Islam have the Sufis for example and of course I don't have to remind you about eastern religions.

That is a valid criticism of some churches. Indeed, that is almost the implied criticism of the church given by the man who asks Jesus to save his son: "Lord I believe; help thou my unbelief!"
In the case of my denomination, the catholic church, I think they do a pretty good job of laying out not just what belief is, but how to actually cultivate belief.
The church runs a lot of retreats and movements, and has various kinds of centering and meditational prayers. It has various orders, like the Carmelites, who have made a virtual science out of their mysticism (see Edith Stein's "The science of the cross.")
The other older churches, like the Anglicans and Lutherans, approach it pretty much the same way, although they've rejected some of the Catholic approaches like the rosary. But things like the contemplative orders and movements (Carmelites, Via de Cristo, Cursillo, etc.) they've embraced.
For a young person, I particularly recommend Taize, an ecumenical prayer movement. I think they've really nailed the art of actually cultivating belief, at least from the devotional side of things.

I know the Bible says "Faith comes by believing and believing by the Word of God." But sometimes some of us feel like our faith is weak. I have heard that the Holy Spirit is the one who reveals to us the truth of God's Holy Word. Try a site like below. Ask God to direct you, in your quest to become more faithful. God Bless.

To me no matter what service I go to I always get what is important to me. And that may be part of what the messengers overall message or theme that is spoken on that day.
A message is like light. There are different frequenceis to light like ultraviolet for heat or microwaves etc. So what one person gets from the message can be different than what another one gets.
We are all on the same path, but each of us are at a different part of the journey in it.
And that's the practicality I get from each message. I hope this helps you. Peace.

Why do you expect others to feed you? People today need to realize that they are the church. If your singing standing on the promises and just sitting in the pews why should you expect others as well as God to bless you?Your not God and the church is not there to worship you.Try going to church with the idea to give instead of receiving and you will be blessed.

Church can only teach Gods Word , the rest is up to God . Sin separates us from God and is hidden in your heart . You will have to deal with your sin by putting your trust in Jesus , which is where faith comes in . You must make a stand in Jesus and all the rest will follow , Amen ....

It depends on the church you attend. The one that I attend does. Of course, the Pastor and all of us talks about how to become a believer- but once a believer, there is discipleship- which is how to live out our faith. If you are asking how to become a Christian here it is- the gospel is very simple but yet not simplistic.
1- admit that you are a sinner
2- confess your sin, and repent.
confess means- to agree with God that it is sin
repent means- to turn away from your sin and back to God
3- accept Christ as the payment for your sin- Salvation
4- accept Christ as your Lord- living your life for Him.
Is this what you are asking? Or are you asking how to grow in your faith? Growing in your faith can be done by bible study and prayer.

Church is like highschool. You go in and get the fundamentals of the bible, you have hallways spats, popularity contests and social interaction....BUT YOU MUST GRADUATE.
Don't keep going to relive it over and over, learn what you need to learn about God, then get out of the church and apply it to your life. I have learned that "staying" at church starts to detiorate your faith because you begin to look at "people" and "man's doctrine" and become subject to "judgement of men".
WHen you "graduate" from church, walk out knowing you have a good foundation, live a life of mercy and love to others and hold on tight to your relationship with God. He never fails.

because religion and the church can't PROVE their religious beliefs, so HOW are they supposed to teach anyone HOW to believe???
Why would anyone go to a church (built by man) instead of worshiping Our Creator where and what Our Creator created: Us !
Here's the Solution for the church and religion:
Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs and start Your journey back home, to Heaven.
<<<<<<< UnConditional Love is the only answer >>>>>>>
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
"religion is Spiritual fraud";
"religion is the Worse invention of humanity";
"Universal Truth has eliminated religion from Spirituality",
quotes of Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.
"When a person is freed of religion, they have a better chance to live a normal and wholesome life." S. Freud
Here are some of my quotes:
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
Freedom of religion is Freedom from religion.
atheists = all the people in religion = all the ignorant fundamentalists = all the cults/superstitions = paganism = wicca = xians = homosexuals/lesbians = skinheads = politicians = lawyers.
